Micheal Raduga's The Phase worth it?

      Hi Guys!

I've though of giving another try to Micheal Raduga's The Phase book yet i ain't sure about few things
The indirect techniques are performed after each natural awakening which is after rem cycle is done?
So i'm wondering why would wild/deild work in that case?

When going back to sleep we'd be going straightly into nrem sleep i guess?
And in nrem dreams are rare from what i heard and they are usually low quality and choppy.

So i'm wondering if there's something that i don't understand or i'm missing
      - Thanks
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

I haven't read the book so I don't know what he says, but here's my answer: In the morning, your sleep cycles are basically long periods of REM interspersed with short periods of wakening and/or NREM. But it's mostly REM. And the closer you get to your normal wake up time, the more REM there is and the less NREM. Eventually, NREM ceases altogether and it's just a bunch of REMs with short wakenings in between. So that's why WILD and DEILD work so well.

It seems that Raduga might be a bit more involved in self-promotion than in teaching about his phase method (which, BTW, he pretty much "borrowed" in total from his former teacher -- funny thing, though: I went to look for the name of that teacher [who I'd forgotten], and I noticed it had been wiped from all of his web pages, including his listing in Wikipedia, even though it was prominent on those pages last time I checked; gotta wonder), but overall his techniques seem helpful, if not terribly different from many others.

So go for it, but keep in mind that you might be supporting a charlatan if you do so...

I've glanced through it and it seems basically like the indirect techniques are to catch FAs and perhaps to perform DEILDs.

If you can immediately get up into a dream the instant you realize you're 'awake' (as he advocates always trying to do)then I believe that means you're already dreaming: it was therefore a false awakening. The fast cycles through different visualizations I think promote falling back into a dream DEILD-style. It seems like a good thing to try: it catches both FAs, and puts your mind into a DEILD-friendly state.

I haven't looked into the direct approach yet.

This book is free now BTW on his site. I have to say I had great success after about a week of trying his indirect methods. I would liken it to a DEILD technique but much better than the standard ones I have seen since you try various techniques other than just trying to concentrate on a previous dream or using just visualization. I have had trouble initiating a dream from my bedroom via the OBE concept until I tried this method. I was able to use it three times just this morning to roll out of my body into a dream version of my bedroom. Sure enough you think you are wide awake and before you know it you are in a dream again. The clarity and stability of my dreams this morning were unreal. I could look away and back again at the environment and it was completely stable. I don't think I have seen such stability before. He also has a very interesting documentary video on YouTube.

Thanks again for once again pointing out there is a thread for results. This thread is about a book and whether or not it's worth it. My comment is relevant to that. If I want to post my results in another thread I will do so.

Kaan is simply pointing out information, no need to get defensive. Besides this thread is over 7 months old, it's a borderline necropost.

Again, I'll refer any additional discussion to the more recently active The Phase thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/beyond-dre...gas-phase.html

      Simma down, nah.

You are just proving my point why I made a whole new post. His comment is also irrelevant and incorrect. Old post or not, if people have the same question about whether it's a good book or not, they will find my comment useful. You say you want to cut down on redundancy, so should I start a new thread about his book and whether it's worth getting? I think people are sweating the small stuff here. I am trying to improve the quality of content here not hinder it.

This issue has now been resolved. However, this is still a necropost (and now well off-topic), so I will lock it down.
