Puzzling WILD issue
I'm back boyssss!!
Anyways... Pretty much 100% of my WILD attempts (save 1) have resulted in this weird state which I'll describe. My body's numb but I'm positive it's not SP, just very relaxed muscles. And my mind is also very calm (I've gotten good at it). However, I could lie there for 36 hours and I'll never hit SP or get HI or any sensation. What happens over and over and over is I'll start to have a train of thought that I can't control kind of like a half dream, then after a few seconds I'll snap back to awareness then it happens again 30seconds later. Over and over and over. Whenever this "snap" happens though, I immediately feel my body deepen its relaxation, but it never reaches SP. I can always tell that I can still move easily. :( halp me

Every WILD attempt for me has always resulted in this state. I think you're expecting sleep paralysis too much, and it makes you too aware and having too much thoughts, which deviates from the normal thoughtless unconscious state when you regularly fall asleep. I suggest you try gently rolling over to another side when you reach this state. It can help refresh the wild experience, and many have hit sleep paralysis right after they rolled over.

SP is not the goal of WILDing, or even a stage you need to go through to reach lucid dream. You will most likely never reach SP and notice it. Why? Because SP is something your body initiates automatically AFTER you start dreaming. By then you are already in a dream, and if you have kept your awareness, you are in fact WILDing and lucid.
Worrying abut reaching/not reaching SP is same as worrying about starting digestion. You can't just start it. You have to eat first and then your body will start it automatically by itself.
Also, numbness and other sensations are NOT SP. Those are normal signs of body falling asleep and mind observing the process. http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html and http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...mystified.html
But there is so much more to WILDing than to lay there still. You can read all about it in this awesome tutorial by sageous, and in our own shorter starter tutorial.
Good luck
