The vibrations make me tense up

So I just did my first two WILDs this afternoon around nap time. They both failed. I used the 61-point meditation and spinal breathing from yoga to relax myself and then just left myself drift into sleep using the mantra "I am dreaming." However I encountered a problem: vibrations, usually in the head region, that make my shoulders and neck tense up. My eyeballs were also bouncing around like they were on meth, but the vibrations were really more of the problem. I had times when I felt like I was beginning to float and the pressure in the back of my head would get really intense, then everything would relax and I knew that I had failed.

I'm quite familiar with these vibrations from practicing yoga nidra, which is like WILD but instead aims to induce a state of conscious dreamless sleep. I've never figured out how to get beyond them, however. They always make my shoulder, neck and jaw muscles tense up and I think that prevents me from going deeper. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

I have the same problem. With practice, I've been able to progress to the point where I experience the vibrations for longer without automatically tensing up. I don't think the eye movement is a tension problem, that is expected. I think it stems from over thinking and over analyzing the process plus a lack of deep physical relaxation. I've only found a roundabout way to get passed this problem. I find that if I do OBE/WILD meditations frequently (daily or every other day) I get vibrations in my sleep every night. Those vibrations wake me up ever so slightly to where I'm conscious and yet 100% relaxed. Furthermore, because I'm in a dreamy state and already feeling vibrations I'm in a state where I can immediately launch into a dream/OBE. All I have to do is think of a place I want to be or a dream I want to have. This has produced the easiest and most intense LD's I've ever had so I recommend it.
