The technique I have been focusing on the most is the FILD. I have heard someone say its too narrow to actually work but I want to hear feedback on it. Is it really useful?

lol u ask that in a WILD section ? :D
Hey there,
With any technique, how useful it is depends entirely on you.
Some techniques seem to work well for some people and not at all for others. More often then not, the exact why of it is hard to pinpoint. There's so many factors that can influence whether or not a technique works for you, both mentally, physically, and even culturally. Give a technique some time.
Personally, I would advise you to try a technique consistently for at least a month (preferably half a year) to determine whether it has any effect. Then, if it works well for you, continue to use it. If it works ok for you but not entirely as you'd like, tweak it. If it doesn't work at all for you, find something else :).
As you try out various techniques, try to learn from them, and hopefully you'll get more familiar with the way your body and mind works with regards to sleeping and dreaming. Then you can start moving towards creating your own personalized set of day-, sleep, and dreampractices. But to do this, techniques can form a very good starting point.
Just my 2 cents,

I ask this as it is an anchor for WILD. I tried FILD once and I had limited success as I I tried FILD with my eyes closed, I saw flashing purple lights and could feel my room becoming lighter.
