Question Did I accidentally WILD last night?

Ok. So I woke up in the middle of the night by accident. I wrote down whatever I remembered from the dream that I had, went to the bathroom, and went back to bed. As I was trying to fall back asleep, I felt this weird sensation across my whole body. It felt as if my whole body went numb for a few seconds and then it stopped. After that happened I couldn't really fall back asleep but eventually I did and I woke up at like 8 in the morning. Did I accidentally WILD? After I felt my body go numb for a few seconds, was I dreaming that I couldn't fall back to sleep, then I actually woke up?

So yeah that's all I want to know. Replies would be appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read

If it was a dream, then it wasn't a WILD because you were never aware that you were dreaming during the dream. It could have been a continuum, but the only way to know for sure is if you're aware when it ended.

Well, after my body got numb for a few seconds everything felt the same and I just couldn't fall asleep. It never occurred to me that it could have been a dream Also what exactly do you mean by continuum? Thanks for replying by the way

A continuum is a type of dream that takes place where the dreamer fell asleep but also makes it appear as if they never fell asleep.

Ah I see. So how am I supposed to know if I was aware when it ended? Did you mean as in being aware that I was asleep at the end of the continuum? because I wasn't aware at all.

Generally you feel a shift in your surroundings as your minds construction of reality during the dream is replaced with reality. It feels just like waking up from any other dream.

But it's also possible that your minds construction of reality can be perfect enough to the point where the shift is too subtle to be aware of.

I had that experience of that weird numb feeling washing over me and wondered myself if it was a WILD. I have since experienced a few WILDs and at this point I don't believe you could have any question if you experienced one or not. I would assume that your body was beginning a hypnagogic induction but it was interrupted (if you begin talking to yourself or focusing on thoughts it can interrupt the transition). If you continue to lie still and not have any thoughts you will usually begin to feel an acceleration period where you feel as if your body is moving really fast. For me I either feel as if I'm being drug or flung very quickly and then it stops once I'm in the dream.
