The rope technique has been effective for me.
1. Do Wbtb
2. Lay on back
3. Start with affirmations like "I will have a lucid dream" etc.
3. Imagine a rope or latter right above your body.
4. Using both your tactile and visual imagination, feel and see your imagined hands grabbing and pulling yourself upward. If you feel a pulsing, vibration, or pulling effect on your body you are doing it correctly.
When laying down doing whichever method you choose, be sure not to move your body at all, this will stop you from falling asleep quickly.
