So i do a WBTB a very short one probably 1 minute long because i want to be very sleepy to achieve WILD easier/faster.I do the anchor method where i put my hand under my belly in my normal sleeping position which is on my stomach.Time passes and nothing happens so i give up.I go to sleep as i normally would and i fall asleep instantly....Any guidance?
1 min WBTB is not long enough. And you need to get out of the bed. Stay up long enough to wake up a tiny bit, but still sleepy. So you can still fall asleep but not too fast and into non-lucid sleep.
Not sure about your anchor. If that's how you sleep normally, then there is nothing unusuall about it. And I'm also not sure about physical anchors. Anchor should be something like verbal mantra. Something you speak or mumble or think. Something that will occupy your mind so it stays awake until dream is ready for you.

if you do a 1-2 min WBTB and still WILD successfully... is it called WBTB then? No leaving the bed or opening eyes, but I do move around and readjust my position a bit. Then I try to occupy my mind with a mantra related to the night's goals (I find that easier than saying "time to do WILD or time to get lucid" -- is that recommended?). Would that count as WBTB or DEILD? Cuz I didn't necessarily exit from a dream to re-enter another dream quickly.
I wonder if the OP is trying to attempt something like that. In which case it was the verbal "anchor" (never heard of that term before until today) that did the trick! I kind of shout it in my mind too, to make it more resolute and to compete against the other random thoughts that falling asleep often generates that could distract me. Try that out and see if it helps.
I say that a good method is one that works for you, haha. I was just replying to WBTB question, which by definition is "get out of bed then get BACK to BED".
I have had moments when I used the restroom and was back in the bed in under 3 min. If I didn't fall back asleep immediatelly, I felt vibrations. If I wasn't so sleepy, I whould have been able to stay awake a bit longer to enter a dream lucidly. So of course, there are many different ways to enter a lucid dream.
Also, I have read in OBE or Phase instructions to cycle through entry techniques immediatelly upon waking up. And those OBE/Phase instructions are damn close to a WILD process. I guess it depends on an individual if you think you are having OBEs or WILDs or both.
If you didn't wake straight from a dream, then it's not a DEILD per se. Even if the gap between waking up and falling back asleep into a lucid dream is very short, just minutes or seconds. That would be a very short WILD.
I'm not saying the only way to get a WILD is with a WBTB. But a WBTB by definition is actually getting up then back to bed with up to 30 min or so being up. Now again, since we are all different, some take as short as 5 min WBTB, and I do my morning nap after being awake for 1-2 or even 3 hrs.
It really is best to experiment and find out what works for us personally. That being said, it's always best to start with "classis" method. And try it many times before we adjust it. That way we will know if we are doing it wrong or only that particular version is not working for us. Same as with cooking. We try the recipe first, then next time we add more of this or less of that to adjust it to our taste.
And yeah, I normally don't use the word "anchor", I use "mantra". But anchor is something that keeps us connected to waking world when we are WILDing. Something that reminds us what we are doing. It's so easy to lose track of thought when we are falling asleep. So something like "I am dreaming" helps us to remember and get back to WILDing when we "forget" what we are doing.
