OK, so I had three WILDs, and it was super easy to have them, when the time is right. For example, I wake up in the middle of the night, and I can easily perform WILD. But I don't know how to find that sweetspot, without too much experimentation, which might discourage me. Can you give me any advice?
^^ From what you said, Elaol, it sounds like you already found our sweet spot. Why not just keep doing what you're doing, since it's obviously working? Did I miss something?
In case I did miss something, experimentation really is the way to go for finding that sweet spot... it might take a while, but it really is the best way to find what sort of timing works best for you.
I didn't write the time I WILDed xD When I am trying something new, I like to hear experiences from other people as well. :D I think when doing WBTB, for me few seconds of WBTB is the best, 3 minute max. I figured that out :DQuote:

Being discouraged doesn't damage your chances nearly as much as missing out on the vital experience you need to learn WILD. Whether you're aware of it or not, your mind unconsciously learns a lot about what you're supposed to feel when transferring into a dream or what it's like to fall asleep but stay conscious during the process, what times work best, and other feelings and cues that you simply aren't aware of but have an impact on your success. Trust me, everyone has a spot of difficulty here or there, but it's nothing that lasts forever. You've already had 3... were they all the same night or during the same week? If you're a beginner, then that's phenomenal and you being afraid to experiment is a downright disservice to yourself. If you're that afraid of failure, you might as well quit while you're ahead and stop attempting WILD altogether when your success rate is so amazingly high.
If you value the experiences you had, then you need to get comfortable with the idea that you might've had beginner's luck or that you may not succeed even as much as 50% of the time. Honestly, even for some people with a lot more experience, a 25% success rate is really high. WILD is one of the most advanced techniques and generally takes the longest to nail down, but is one of the best and most reliable once you've learned it. Most people deal with no success at all for a very long time, and they practice it with no clear chance of a return, but persevere despite that and wind up having it be their go-to technique. You already know that you can achieve success because you've already experienced it, you have so much more reason to have confidence and not be discouraged, even if you don't have another successful WILD for the next 50 or so attempts. I didn't get my first successful WILD until I'd tried it a good 30 times, got the second one after about 40, then had a dry spell that pushed up the number of attempts before my third success to at least 90, and only then I started to get the hang of it. WILD is now one of my most prolific techniques. You've got such a good chance at being good at one of the best techniques you could be good at, don't be afraid of getting a little discouraged, you're already better off than you realize.
I had those WILDs in the range of 7 days. I had some weird sleep two nights in a row, where I thought I wasn't asleep at all, but in fact I was waking up after every REM. I do WILDs kinda instinctively. I read a lot of techniques two years ago, when I, like every beginner, wanted to start LD with WILDs. A couple of nights ago, I had vivid HH when I just went to sleep and had 2 WILDs. The next time after a night or two, I imagined my hands rubbing. The next time, I followed HH again. I do it without any technique. And I don't want to burden my mind with techniques :D I do what feels right at the moment :DQuote:
