Try to ignore the concept of failure. Thinking about failure during the attempt takes attention away from entering or staying in a dream. |

I have experienced DEILDs in the past. Most recently I had 3 DEILDs in a row, around 3 days ago. However, Im finding my failure rate to be extremely high. I am always able to wake up completely still without moving, however I just cant make that transition. I try to recall dreams, induce tactile sensations but it doesnt work 9/10 times. For example, this morning I woke up still atleast 4 times and tried to do a re-entry and it just wasnt happening. Wondering if you guys have the same issue, or how you guys solved a similar issue? |

If you are being honest about your fail rate being 9/10 then congrats. That is actually very high and should allow you many dozens of DEILDs each year. If you do not have a partner in your bed you can do alarm/snooze DEILD. I have an I-phone with a clock. It has a 9 minute snooze and I can pick the tone. To activate the snooze I only need to press either of the volume buttons. I take the phone off the night stand the first time and sleep with it under my hand. When the next snooze goes off I only need to move one finger to shut it off, then back into the dream. I daily snooze about 7 times as part of my daily routine. If you did this and really have a 1/10 success rate you will be lucid almost every night. When you get better, multiple time a night. |

thanks for the tip. this is something im definitely going to try when I get back to having busy days. Ive been relaxing on vacation for 2 months. Not really vacation but military school which is 2-3 hours a day where we dont do much so Im not exhausted by the end of the day like normal which causes my sleep to get wonky. Ive mainly been using autosuggestion and even when I use alarms, my body just wants to wake up 10 minutes before the alarms go off and I cant fall back to sleep soon enough. |

Threw in autostop alarms this morning. Out of the three I plugged in my phone, I was only able to be awoken by one of them and I started the DEILD process immediately. I was in the middle of a dream when I woke up so I started imagining the sensation of falling and visualized something. My hypnagogia set in and I started to get vibrations and heard kids talking. I tried to do a body exit method by rolling out but, It was too soon and It snapped me out of the hypnagogic state. |

One factor in my training that many people overlook is mastering the art of falling to sleep. Being able to go easily into sleep and also not being kept awake by a restless mind are a type of yoga. They are skills that can be learned and practice. They are valuable tools for DEILD. |

A few years ago I tried Yoga Nidra for several weeks, and it seemed to make falling asleep somewhat easier (although sleep quality overall seemed the same). These days (actually for about a week and a half now) I have been listening, for 15 minutes before going to sleep, to a recording of myself sounding a self-chosen mantra, repeated over and over. I concentrate as best I can on the sound of the mantra. |

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?
I set 6-8 alarms last night. I woke up literally 1 minute before my first alarm went off. I couldnt fall asleep for an hour after that which negated 2 more alarms. Every other alarm after that I woke up before again. I still had two one second DILDs though. Im about to have my gf plug in these alarms because I think the moment I enter my alarms, my bodys defense mechanism kicks in to not allow it to happen. I think my subconscious is seriously messing me. The only time I have been able to wake up to alarms is when alcohol is involved. |
