I started to get what i think was HI(red and blue blotches + shapes) but i realised at one point what i thought was a "shape" was just the light poking through the top of my curtains. Would it be ok to wear a sleeping mask thingy to combat this or will my eyes starting to drift open affect the WILD?
if you wear a mask, it would be okay, as long as there isnt much difference between the closed eye image and the open eye. try to keep them closed though.
Mask is ok as said, but you should try to get your WILDing so relaxed and easy so you are not disturbed or tempted to open your eyes. In the end it doesn't actually matter if it is the light from your curtains because if you keep on going you will eventually success in WILD and start to have HI. Don't wear a mask which puts too much pressure on your eyes though, because when you WILD eyes start jerk a lot due the REM.
