WILD attempt #2..WTF?

This is very weird and a bit embarrassing..

I tried my second attempt at WILD today, and it was going pretty well. I found a position that was fairly comfortable and I figured out that having some mellow music playing helps a LOT.

SP was not very uncomfortable this time, I felt my body getting heavier and eventually the only thing that I could feel was my right eye. Gradually words began to form in front of my eye, it looked like I was looking at a book. I could only see a few words or one picture at a time, and I had to squint a little. I scanned the book quietly, it was fairly boring material. I tried to stay relaxed and wait for a dream to start..

Then I had an orgasm.:wtf: I mean, like out of NOWHERE. I kind of instinctively crossed my legs, which of course knocked me out of the whole thing completely and woke me up.

Well, I do know that REM induces increased blood flow to the reproductive organs (regardless of dream content), but your case seems somewhat odd. Anyway, I assume that it wasn't just a dream? Were the words from the book familiar? Something you read that day?

No, the words weren't familiar at all..I guess the closest thing that I can compare it to is patent application. Diagrams and descriptions of how the thing goes together and works. I couldn't really figure out what the hell it was talking about..I may have been able to if I had paid closer attention,but I've read that it's best not to focus too much on the images so I just sort of scanned it without trying to interpret.

I'm leaning towards the blood flow theory too, either that or maybe some area of my brain was triggered for some random reason..?

It's not really a theory, it's a known effect of REM-related brain activity. Although, when it comes to sleep and the brain, nothing seems to be certain.

that's happened to me. i trained myself to have "wet dreams" so to speak... simply come while sleeping or dreaming. quite nice, actually. i don't seek them out but i don't resist them either... i just need to hold course. sometimes they get the better of me and sometimes i hang in there.

Interesting account beachgirl. Personally, I've never had, nor even come close to, a nocturnal emission. Although this topic is understandably awkward for some people, I wish more people would discuss it, since it is a relatively unspoken subject.

I've got no issues with it. I myself have actually never had a wet dream. Which is surprising, actually. I'm guessing it's because I fap quite often :P, and nearly always before hitting the sack. (No, I don't hit the sack)

okay... here goes.

many people, men and women, assume an orgasm takes a few seconds. so that's it. but you can learn to stretch them out and stream the energy through your body. you can have then ejaculatory and non-ejaculatory orgasms... (this part for men). your choice, as you get better at doing this.

actually so can women, in the reverse way... non-ejaculatory and then ejaculatory, but i think that's for another forum! :-) ..... (women could most likely ejaculate inside a dream. i haven't yet but i have during a reverie where i was otherwise motionless so i am guessing it's phsyiologically possible.)

once you've learned this, a second distinction is "going over the edge". it's nice to stream the energy as long as you want before going over the edge and sometimes fun learning how to prolong the time before you do "go over".

even if you do go over, it may not necessarily take you out of your dream if ... you know to "go over" and stream that too, ie. not get too flustered about the whole thing. take it in stride.

i am talking about tantra here.

so... maybe... it's about giving yourself that permission and letting your body be an open vessel for the flow of energy. being relaxed when you feel sexual energy and not have it knock you out of a dream. that's what it was about for me.

so - my guess is - for guys- that it's possible that learning non-ejaculatory orgasm would keep the sexual energy level higher overall and possibly support the occurrence of sexuality in dreams. then you can even learn to choose whether there are emissions or not... if you are lucid and skilled.

i practice that in real life so having it happen in a dream was not a big thing for me. i just went, oh, okay, i know what to do! i have options! sort of... after all they *are* dreams and a little unpredictable!!! but a fun goal, just like learning about LD.

Don't know about the orgasm part, but I do know that you can snap out of SP if you focus too much before you are fully in the dream state, that might've been what happened when you started reading the pages. Just a thought.

As erik said REM can be a very erotic time! but also, i think going into SP can also release erotic feelings. why? we are going into a place of profound relaxaxtion and our whole bodymind system is reorganizing and rewiring. i do biodynamic craniosacral and i often see people get very erotic when they relax profoundly. SP is just another instance of this.

Eh, that's plausible. Dream sharing has been discussed quite a few times around here.

Well, I fully believe it is possible, and I've personally listened to this one guy and his friend. His friend would help him become lucid my entering his dream and telling him to RC or something because he was dreaming, but they guy dreaming would just ignore it and go on his way, still non-lucid. I think it's possible, but I don't blame people for not believing.

That's always the thing with anything involving faith; you can't convince someone. I don't believe in God, neither do I believe in religion, but if God appeared before me I would most definitely believe in him. Not because I want to or have to, but simply because I see what I believe. Any amount of argument wouldn't be able to convince me otherwise.

Same goes for shared dreams. Right now I definitely do not believe in it and could give a page long explanation as to how its all in your head, but I'm guessing those words would melt the instant something like that ever happened to me.

But it won't, because I don't believe in it, remember ;)?

Quite some paradoxical thinking you have going on there. I get what you're saying though.
