This is my biggest problem! Any time that I wake for WBTB, I can never stay awake! It is bugging me soo much, and I feel like I have so many missed opportunities because of this stupid thing!
How do you stay awake when you wake up? Please! I really need to know how soon!
You should do something to quickly arouse yourself. If it's a WBTB, just get out of bed I guess? Will power plays a great role here. If you really aim to get up, it won't be as hard as you think.
You're actually very lucky, it's way easier to get over being too sleepy than being too awake.
Just REFUSE to go to fall asleep, if you can just keep your mind going your body should fall asleep pretty quick.
The thing is, I really am motivated to get a WILD, but my body just can't comply with my mind! I try, really hard sometimes, but it just isn't good enough! What are some ways that I can boost my will power?
I have the same kind of problem. I can stay awake for quite a while and start seeing something like dreams.. I know that if I do fall asleep that I barely am sleeping because somebody could be walking on the first floor of my home and I wake up. Any suggestions?
what are you doing when trying to stay awake? If you are laying in bed then you have no hope. What if you sit in a computer chair? Worse comes to worse just stand, you probably wont fall asleep then. stand there and watch tv or do stuff on your computer.

I think the problem is sometimes this wakes people up too much but you seem to have the opposite problem so it may be worth a try.
If you dont want electronics maybe stand or sit in a chair and read.

Electronics wake up your brain too much. That is why they shouldn't be used.
That's right, electronics DO wake your brain up. Maybe just reviewing over how to do the WILD, and reading your DJ if you have one. You're so lucky, I always wake up too much when waking up :p. Try just opening your eyes and if they get heavy, remember your intent to have an LD. Best of luck, and post results :D
No I agree here.
Sometimes I do WBTB and I think "Okay, I am not going to fall asleep for nothing! Keep thinking about lucidity! Don't forget" and then I get tired and just go to sleep and waste my opportunity.
Just focus. Forget all this crap about clearing your mind. Keep thinking "I'm going to have a lucid" and imagine the ultimate LD in your mind.
Thanks for the advice. I shall try again tonight, and post results tomorrow. If I post nothing, then the same thing happened.
Ahh I did the same thing last night, requires quite a bit of willpower to get up. If you miss the DEILD opportunity just force yourself up...you'll (hopefully) have a dream that you still remember (and I know this can be extremely difficult to do at night) and write some points down in your Dream Journal.
Is this a problem? If you do remember wakeups during night AND go asleep fast then you is set for WILDs. Just use some easy tech like DEILD, FILD or "cellphone" tech.Quote:
