I don't really think there is an alternative option. Only very few people can WILD before entering a REM period. Though, what you could do is, get a nap in right before you go to bed for the night, then you can WILD when you go to bed because you already started a REM period.

4:45?! Ouch. You have my sympathies.
You've got three options:
1. Wake by soft alarm (quiet/vibrating), stay in bed, do a wake-back-to-bed ritual (such as imagining and performing reality checks, recalling your last dream, etc). This is essentially a wake-back-to-bed, only it should be less intrusive as far as sleep quality goes.
2. WILD while taking naps. With a schedule like that, you could probably use a daily nap anyway.
3. Switch to DILD. This will have the least impact on both your sleep and waking schedule.

Personally, I find WILDing to be incredibly easy during a nap. If I'm at that point in the day where I'm lounging on the couch and could easily fall asleep in minutes, then it's WILDing time fo' sho'.
So try incorporating naps into your day. But don't nap after 3pm (which could be hard depending on when school ends for you), that can really mess up your sleeping schedule as you will wake up in the evening and have a hard time falling asleep later that night.
