My attempt at WILD.
Alright. So I took a nap at 11:50 a.m. this morning, and this is how it went.
I tried to perform a WILD, but with no success. Please read my results.
I laid down on my bed and got in a comfortable position at 11:50. Then I started counting and tried not to think about it.
So at about 500, I twitched and heard this deep vibrating noise, which I thought was my fan (because I had it turned on) and the noise seemed to go with the fan. I also thought it was my phone, because it was on vibrate; but then I figured out it wasn't because the vibrating noise kept going on and on.
Anyways, at about the number 1200 I thought, "this is ridiculous, I should be in SP by now." I thought I was, because I was very numb. After a few more seconds, I opened my eyes and did an RC, and it didn't work.
So, should I try another awareness technique? Or should I just work at this one? If someone would tell me what I was doing wrong, that would greatly be appreciated.

WILD takes practice, I'd suggest sticking to the same method for a while.

It sounds like the vibration was actually your body easing into waking sleep paralysis. Make sure to not focus on hallucinations when you try to wild, keep counting and ignore everything else. Sounds like you were close though, definitely stick to this method and try again.
