I heard it is good to have an aid that actually symbolizes flying like if you know that wings make you fly you should use wings because it tells your mind you're about to fly. It's great to have an aid, like mentioned.

The first time i ever lucid dreamed i grew glowing black wings and could fly. btw have you ever had a link dream with someone? i have. i woke up dizzy

I remember the first dream where I actively 'was flying'. I don't remember much about it other than me being in like a dark castle or mansion of some kind, and I discovered when exploring the hallways that I was actually hovering and levitating. This made sense because throughout the dream I was having difficulty stopping and traveling exactly when I wanted to, it was like I was dealing with air brakes on a truck, or like I was a puck on an air hockey table.

Throughout my dreams where I have flight, it all seems to work on the same principles:

1) That I can fly best when I don't think about flying.

2) That if I notice my flight and call too much attention to it, I'll lose it for a while, possibly for the rest of the dream.

3) That I need to be careful with it, because I can't stop precisely when I want. This is especially true when I go really, really fast.

I've also never had wings before in any of my dreams. None that I can remember, anyway.

When I flew last night, I zoomed too much... It was more like the Sims 3's Overhead view than it was like flying :\.
