Dream Views Song Idea 1
Ok people, I think we may make groups with 3. This way, we'll have multiple songs in multiple styles. We end line up thing, now let's do these groups. I wanna play funk and hard rock style (not punk as misunderstood before :P) and I need 2 other people to figure that out. Who wants to play with me? :)
Ok, we are in group 1 :D
Awesome! :yumdumdoodledum:
righty-o
Thanks Burns
I love to hear the guys online too, it was great to see Oneironaut's video on YouTube.
Sounds good, Tom. I like it! :goodjob2:
Very "on the beach"-ish. :cooler:
I think I could dedicate some of my precious (with all the stuff I have going on, it really is!) to writing some lyrics for songs.
PS: I listened to the clip posted on YouTube. I like it. I didn't hear any words (except the talking before and after)... did I mis-hear?
yes... the change in rythm could be good... and i suggest a somewhat "radical change"... changing the rhythm completely, but keeping the same feeling in the song itself...
oh oh i call dibs on the cow bell
jk
...
im leaving now
I know something I could do. Somebody mentioned somewhere about something Indian being in the background. Since guitar, bass, drums, mixing, leads, and pretty much everything else I do are already taken, there's one thing left - Tabla.
I could put together some Tabla loops. Just tell me the tempo and time signature you want (whenever you get that stuff worked out).
I could also do some sound effects or sound enhancement if needed.
How can you tell if you're dreaming?
When you're not even sure what is real
In your dreams your wishes come true
You let go of all the sorrow you feel
Flying high above the clouds
Letting your fears fall behind you
You ask yourself how
And then as if right on cue...
(Chorus #1)
You wonder why, you can suddenly fly
You look at your hands and see seven fingers
"Am I dreaming, oh yes I am!"
The warmth of lucidity lingers.
You ask "what would I like do do?"
You seek to practice that song
For in a dream, do whatever you please
Correct all those thngs that were wrong
As you sing, a crowd draws around you
You feel your cheeks turning read
Currently, right now, rather than singing
You would really prefer to be dead
(Chorus #2)
You wonder why, the "DC"s are cheering
You remember your beautiful voice
The outcome of all of your dreams is your decision
Making that ultimate choice.
You forget your fears when you're in control
There's nothing you can't do
You lose that stage fright you get while singing
And become better too!
Suddenly everything's fuzzy
Your dream is fading away
You wake up with a rare smile on
That lucid dream helped you today
Thats some lyrics. Kinda... bad.. I think.... I dunno...
I'm a composer myself. So perhaps if you wanted a straightfoward march, and kind of lead that into something more "foreign" or "trance-y" to show the transgression from consciousness to the dream world. Like have the bass continue and fade into something else, maybe bringing along a sitar and guitar in counterpoint and into fugato, and forming into a "liquid-ish slide" of beats, sounds and synth stuff.
Or even take it further and bounce back and forth between genres and styles to represent REM stages and other things, such as new dreams shifting. Perhaps a cohesive melody or theme that keeps coming back.
I have a song that me and my friend made awhile ago that falls into this dreamish category. It's titled "Orange Horses Clothed in Red".
I'll post it soon.
Just messing around some, with the melody that Tom Peace posted. I added this breakbeat to it, but it's just something thrown together. I didn't even make the beat from scratch. It's an altered preset from a drum machine.
But I did start playing the guitar along with the song, and came up with this elec guitar part for it, as I was improvising. :cooler:

But this is just me toying around with the concept. Let me know when anyone has any great ideas, as to how they wanna do this project.
I like what's been done; what you added/edited to Tom's awesome song made it a lot funkier too, so props :)
I've made this in about 1.5-2 hours, enjoy:

Maybe the song could follow this sort of introduction.
Wow, guys. Beautiful stuff! Some very genius ideas you have.
I'm gonna do a thing and mix these ideas together, i will post it up in a short while.
Thanks, Stalin, and what you've done sounds tight! Good stuff, man!
And thanks, Tom. I'm glad you like it. :content:
Am i worthy to join in on your project? :D
