I had to produce a piece for my Music Mastering in Synthesis class that fit stereotypical electronica standards. Tell me what you think.

That is some really cool stuff. I love the feel/texture of it. Tell me how you do on it for the class.
Ah, I tunred it in a few weeks ago, hah. I got a B. There were a few programming errors in my main synthesizer :(
Pretty cool. I dig the experimental/down-tempo nature to this. The eerie ambience was nice, just wish some of the parts evolved a bit more. They became a tad repetitive... *shrugs*
Most of the electronica i've listened to (not that much) is pretty repititive, so that didn't bother me. Thanks for reminding me of the word I was looking for. I wanted to comment on how I love the ambience of the music, but I wasn't sure if ambience was the right word (I still have no idea what it actually means).
ambience means background noise (in a nutshell)
Yeah, I'm thinking about developing this piece further. As I said, it was just a project for class. I'll probably mix up some of the ideas I have going on, but I don't want to introduce any more synthesizers. I like the simplicity it has right now.
I meant more like evolve the synth lines. You basically have the same few phrases throughout.
Yes, that's what I said.
What was used to make this? Cubase?
cubase, ableton, a drumset, and a yamaha motif.
coo... a motif 6 or 7?
7, we just picked it up 3 weeks ago :D
Nice.. we're actually thinking about getting one of those again. We have the motif es rack but...y'know...it's a rack.
Anyways, Nice start for only have it for 3 weeks...
Yea, we do a lot of live stuff so quick accessibility is a major plus
I am not really into electronic music. But it sounded just fine. Kind of normal, nothing special. But not bad or anything.
