What's the fascination with Romania?

I don't even remember how it started lol... all you need to know is that It does in fact fascinate me

I find french interesting

In my opinion, Romanian sucks ass. The whole of Romania sucks ass. I live in Romania so I know what I'm talking about. (But don't worry, Hungarian is even worse ;)).

BTW, 'gara' isn't gas station. It's train station. And it's not "L-am vad la gara", it's "L-am vazut la gara."

Oh and "Imi place cafeaua" means "I like coffee." 3 words :P

EDIT: And it's "munţilor" not "munţiilor" (only one "i").

Shit you're right about vazut and gara. I'm rusty... I haven't done Romanian in a while because I've been really rreeeeeaally busy.

But Imi place cafeaua does mean I like coffee, but the direct translation is To me, the coffee is pleasing

I like Romania!!! Trust me it's not that great in America either... everybody here is so arrogant... like in my spanish class...

Well, there's some truth in that. English is the most important(?) language in the world. Learning other languages is useful only if you go to a country where people speak that language. Oh the other hand, English is spoken taught everywhere (as far as I know).

I know..... but it's still annoying as hell lol.....

and when i go to other countries i feel that they'd appreciate if i spoke their language...

Yeah I heard that lol. But trust me America isn't that interesting...

like my town is composed of a bunch of assholes who bought 2 Hummers and drive around in them at midnight chanting USA USA USA! Out of the windows while totally wasted.

Just for the fun of it, I translated what I said before to Romanian.

Romanii cred ca oamenii din alte tari (exceptie Ungaria - ei urasc ungurii) sunt interesanti. Deci daca vii aici, sa vorbesti engleza. Noua chiar ne place cand strainii vin in vizita :).

Lol. Well I haven't completely forgotten all of my Romanian because I could understand that :)

Well I love their language and their music, and some people have shown me pictures of the towns. I've read a lot of books about Romania too. But yeah I know, I've never been there...

I really wanna see Sibiu and Peles Castle when I go there

My Dads place is in Tepes, quite nice apparently.

Still doesn't change the fact that most Americans in general are culturally out of tune with the rest of the world. :?

In fact, many of them are so arrogant, they refuse to learn other languages even when they're visiting a foreign country. They expect even the foreigners to be able to speak their language.
