Shit, Sobs & Sighs From Numbers Repeated
Sobs From Heaven
Tears can't accurately express the way that I feel
Too tired to cry, too surreal to believe that moment was real
Thoughts play back and pervade my mind
Like a record player on repeat, frozen in time
This can't be real, it all happened so sudden
What we were building, demolished into nothing
The thoughts, the memories, our times I'm retracing
My heart is crying and my mind is racing
I look around and see no options to fall on
Save to be that friend, that one you can call on
So that's what I'll be, whether it's wrong or it's right
I'll be in your corner, shaking you to NOT give up the fight
My strength you'll make your own, God I pray that you do
You DON'T have to do it alone, though you may think you have to
Here I stand, as I am, are, will be and always have been
Standing beside you, seeing you through 'till the end

Revision of the Human Condition
To be human is to hurt, to be human is to cry
To be human is to know and at the same time ask why
To be human is different, odd and still the same
To be human is to be strung up in god's marionette game
To be human is to love, regret, fuck and lie
To be human is to wrinkle, grow old and eventually die
To be human is to experience weddings and funerals too
To be human is to do what you've grown accustomed to do
To be human is to watch your mother and father die
To be human is to instinctually blame god for reasons why
To be human is incomprehensible, and yet simple as well
To be human is to experience on earth, all levels of hell
To be human is to fall in love, and sleep in your lovers arms
To be human is to feel obligated to keep them from harm
To be human is short, a great opportunity or a divine joke
To be human is to let life pass as you keep clicking the remote
To be human is worth it, and yet too much to bear
To be human is to feel emotionally drained, but at the same time still care
To be human is to read to your children and tuck them in at night
To be human is to summon the love to punish them, when they knowingly do what's not right.
To be human is to run from problems and make excuses for where you are
To be human is to fearfully buy your 17 year old their first car
To be human is to have goals and get them completed
To be human is to throw in the towel and announce yourself defeated
To be human it to stay up for hours, talking on the phone
To be human is to run far off, only to make your way back home
To be human is to smell, taste, touch, hear and see
To be human is to connect to souls, me be strong for you and you be strong for me
Hold fast to my words, and know them within your heart to be true
To me, being human means loving myself, but even more-so loving you.
