Shimmering Snakes of Living Light in the Time Before Forgetting


In ancient times, times far beyond the present understanding, time itself moved in a rare and singular rhythm, a distinct atavistic frequency unknown to written history. In those long forgotten misty realms, people were not as they are now. They were not sleeping in a numb miasma, zombies hypnotized by shallow meaningless entertainments, consuming and consumed by endless ephemeral nothings that poison the earth, the body, and starve the spirit.

In the Time gone, Earth’s inhabitants were still awake, truly alive, and each human being knew that its essence was of God/ISness. No, not that one was more God than another - but rather that everyone and everything, the whole wonderful hologram of Life they themselves had projected, was ISness.

In that time now vanished, the human race was still connected to its Source, aware of its divinity, and consciously manifesting the holographic universe. The centers of power placed along the spine, up into the neck, the head and above, were running rivers – the energies of God.

The potent essence of creativity, the kundalini fire fused into streams of pulsating light that rippled up and down their bodies like flames in a raging burning forest, tidal waves of energy - snakes of living light. Cascading rainbows of photons swirled around and out of their heads in unimaginable radiance. Each nuance of thought reflected in the glistening fiery spray, each emotion igniting a resonance of Beauty in Light.

It was a wonderful time - the Time before Forgetting. One wonders if and when the approach of ensuing cycles was sensed. For inevitably and imperceptibly, the frequencies of the temporal illusory hologram changed, becoming gradually diminished and dulled. The brilliance of the seething snakes of light from the kundalini force dimmed and as consciousness descended further into matter, was suppressed, cloaked - choked.

Humankind began to forget. Not all at once, but slowly and sweetly their tender focus on what they had created distracted them from their Source. They began to forget. Some sooner than others, and the ones who still remembered were there to remind them, to whisper in dreams - Remember who you are. But still the ineluctable Forgetting pushed, forced, somehow, moved itself downward into the approaching cycle of time.

The few who quite reasonably, desperately clung to what had been before were still able to see the snakes of light writhing from the heads of beings that possessed Real Power. But most could not. Most did not remember their own flames of thought, the once radiant wild spraying photon rivers, the shimmering snakes of light. And they began to be afraid.

The frequencies of fear lead human consciousness further into isolation, separation, density and delusion. Cut off from the true memory of Oneness, this world descended into violence fed on the contagious miasma of fear. The Sacred Warriors of better times, whose dharma was to protect Truth, left the Earth.

As time crawled inexorably on, fear and greed became the norm. The creators, who had forgotten who they were, inserted unending wars into the astonishing hologram called Life. Thus began thousands of years of senseless, intentional, unstoppable killing - taking what others created and loved. Endless wars soaked the earth with blood and the once visible luminescent snakes of light vanished. Thus began all of written history.

Castles Made of Sand

It was the Sci-Fi writer Philip K. Dick (Blade Runner,
Total Recall, Minority Report) who suggested during a mushroom session with Buckminister Fuller (inventor of the Geodisic dome)
- that you could shape a building with sound .

With a grant from California Governor 'Moon-Beam' Brown,
they set up 150 giant speakers around an area of sand dunes near Valencia.

The sand was laced with a compound invented by Fuller,
which he named "fuller's earth"; it had an almost liquid state
until compressed, at which point it became temporarily solid.

The first attempt was with the ninth symphony.
The music built in solemn steps, like a prayer, or a joke;
And the sand swirled in growing waves under the blast of 150 speakers set to volume 11.

A cathedral appeared.
That refreshments were provided by writer Ken Kesey only casts some doubt on the story;
each witness describes the music shaping a majestic building that
reached up to the sky 'like the hand of a conductor or a drowning man'.

Dick wanted to enter (wearing protective ear-padds)
but was stopped by Fuller.
When the music ended the cathedral promptly collapsed.

They tried other musics;
a blast of Philip Glass created a house that seemed built of writhing snakes; no one was tempted to enter.

A Scarlotti harpsichord piece produced a forest of standing crystals,
almost transparent, almost beautiful, entirely mathematical.

Finaly, - a rock-n-roll piece.
They watched from the hillside as
Sargent Peppers trumpeted out across the dunes,
re-arranging the random grains of sand
to build,
- a kind of village
where each house was a gypsy caravan wagon,
with strange faces depicted on the sides.
And each wagon seemed to float in the air by
balloons, giant Oz-like balloons with ropes of sand.

The setting sun painted it all in every shade of sound between pink and black.

And then the music stopped,
the town shivered,
- and floated off in the ocean breeze,
out over the pacific and the night.

Sometimes people see it in the distance,
but you aren't allowed to live there.

WHEN WE DEVELOP MEMORY WE FORGET WHO WE ARE

When we are young babes we know who we are, but we can't remember being babies.
When we develop memory, we forget who we are.
When we recognize what we see and hear, we become deaf and blind.
When we learn what we are taught, we don't know anything.

The Idiot's Guide to being a Successful Guru
How To Be A Successful Guru

If you want to be a successful Guru you will need to think about what name you should adopt. Your name should express your particular style and be memorable. Also think about what kind of disciples you want to gather around you.
If you pick a Hindu name, for example, you will attract people who are attracted to anything different and exotic. You could have the title "swami" in front of your name; that is exotic enough and it implies that you have been iniated by a strange Guru and mastered many esoteric practices that seekers find fascinating. Examples are: Ram Das, Bhagwan Das, and Gangaji.
Or if you want to portray yourself as just a normal guy who happens to be smart or wise enough to have miracuously "got it", or if you are just too nerdy looking to have an exotic name you can keep your ordinary name. Some examples of this type of guru are: Andrew Cohen and Ken Wilber.
Or if you aren't satisfied until you create your very own religion with you as God, you can just make up nonsense words for your name. Franklin Jones comes to mind, who changed his name many times to Bubba Free John, to The Da Avatar, Then Adi Da, and more.
If you aren't satisfied with your name it is totally acceptable to change it as many times as you see fit. Feel free to change it whenever the mood strikes you. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh went through a phase of changing his name many times until he settled on "Osho". No matter what name you choose, make sure you feel comfortable with it and that it fits you and how you want to portray yourself to your flock.

Now it is time to cultivate your "charisma". What is charisma? It is that special 'something' that all great leaders have. It is a kind of fascination that they are able to project that magnetically attracts weak-minded people. You are all probably familiar with charismatic people who got a huge following via the power of their personality. Have you heard of Barack Obama?
So how do you cultivate your charisma? There are many methods; yoga, qui gong, and hypnosis to name a few. But an easy way to get started is to sit in a comfortable chair in front of a mirror. Place the mirror slightly below you so that it is pointing up at you. Now try breathing slowly and smoothly as you pretend to gaze around at your adoring followers. Smile, but don't smile TOO much. Remember the point is to appear immersed in a transendental state of bliss. You want to appear as if this world is just a distraction to you, and that you are only concerned with it because you are SO compassionate for these pitiful humans. But you also need to look like that so great is your bliss, that no matter what happens you will always have a slight smile on your face. Even if someone is insulting you, or beating you, at no cost must that smug smile ever leave your face.
But a smile isn't anything if you don't know how to use your eyes. Practice looking into your mirror. Gaze into your eyes and pretend that you are Jesus or Buddha or whomever you aspire to be like. How would Jesus gaze? What does the Buddha's eyes look like when he is looking at you? Don't be discouraged if it is hard at first, just keep practicing and eventual you will get the 'knack' of it. Remember: practice makes perfect!
It also helps to meditate regularly in order to have some actual experience of a calm peaceful mind, but it isn't necessary to meditate to decieve people if you don't have the patience for it. Look at L Ron Hubbard! I don't think he meditated a day in his life but now even after his death he has a huge cult with many Hollywood stars in it. It just goes to show that with a little ingenuity anybody can become a successful guru!

Once you have your Guru name and you are pretty confident in your ability to appear enlightened in all situations, people will start approaching you asking for teachings and blessings. To be prepared for this it is important to have a strong idea of what your teachings will be. Before we go any further it is essential for you to understand one very important point that makes the Guru business the best business to be in. You must remember that what you are selling is invisible, intangible, unmeasurable, and may not really exist in the first place. But the greatest thing is that nobody can prove that it does or doesn't exist!
However there are many disclaimers and conditions that you should make just to protect yourself. For instance, if you are selling enlightenment and someone feels that you didn't deliver, you can say something like "You are not progressing because your faith is not complete. Only with complete and absolute faith in me will you progress upon the path." Do you see how clever this is and how it relieves you of any responsibility? Now it is on the disciple; they obviously didn't get the goods because they have some doubt in you, and of course everyone is bound to have some doubt; it is human nature. If someone has no doubt, that someone is a complete imbecile. that person will die for you or kill for you. Or you could say something like "I just show the way, it is up to you to walk the path." Again, this relieves you of any responsibility so you can just sit back and enjoy your spiritual supremacy.
So what are your teachings going to be? The most tried and true teachings is that you are GOD and that all anybody has to do is to love you, serve you, worship you, etc. This is the oldest teaching in the world, and it is really good at attracting morons and idiots to you. And it is good to surround yourself with idiots and morons because they are so willing to give you money or sleep with you.
But maybe that is too simple and easy for you. Then you can try a teaching style I like to call "Don't you get it?" An example of this kind of teaching is: "There is nothing to do, nothing to achieve, you are already that which you seek. Just realize what is." This one attracts a different type of disciple. These disciples are usually a little more intelligent than the previous example. They usually take pride in there intelligence. This teaching will challenge them. It will challenge their egos. This teaching will really leave them vulnerable. The biggest benefit of this teaching is that anyone who takes pride in their intelligence (which is almost everybody) will find it hard for their ego to accept that they can't realize something which is so obviously apparent. They most likely won't confront you on your claims of enlightenment because they don't want to appear unintelligent. It is like the old story "The Emperors New Clothes". This one is real good for a laugh if you are the Guru. And they will think that you are laughing with them! Also the idea that they are already perfectly enlightened and that there is nothing to do really appeals to their egos. So now they can just go on with their lives driving their mini-vans and eating at The Olive Garden being eternally grateful for you letting them not change anything. This teaching is like a diet that promises that you will lose weight without changing your diet or exercising.
But what if you feel bad exploiting these people who are desperately looking for some meaning in their lives? Try exploiting the genuinely insane people instead by teaching something so outlandish that not even a reasonably free-thinking child will accept it. A teaching I call "I am in contact with enlightened space aliens!" I call it that but you can substitute anything you want for space aliens. But the important thing is that only you are in contact with them so that everyone is dependent on you! But be aware that if this is your style you will get a lot of criticism. Only the craziest of the weak minded people will buy this one. It helps if you are genuinely insane also if this is going to be your teaching.

Try this with a friend:

1. Decide on which one of you will be the Guru and which one will be the senior disciple.

2. When the Guru is giving darshan or speaking to a group of seekers the senior disciple starts contorting and rolling on the ground, eyes rolling back in head, and otherwise making a spectacle of himself/herself.

3.Now the Guru should explain that this person is a very advanced disciple and that he/she is coming along very nicely and that this behavior is from the Guru raising the disciple's kundalini.

4. Now watch as more and more people start demonstrating similar behavior. Now you are on your way to being a successful Guru!

Today I saw two bears playing in the forest, which was pretty strange, I always thought that they were solitary animals. Yet there they were, playing. At first I thought that they were fighting but no, they were playing kind of like big slow dogs, except when dogs roll around when they play bears stand up. The big bear even would quickly run up a tree about fifteen feet and hang on there and then slide back down. They would rest between bouts of playing and big bear would stretch his pays up over his head. He also was scratching the tree. They were cute. They knew I was there but they paid me no mind. I don't know if it was foreplay or if they were feeling romantic or what. I never seen two grown bears hang out together.

Darkmatters, I also saw two great horned owls! One of them had one eye open and the other was sleeping.

Santana at woodstock.
My Dad always tells me about how great Woodstock was even though he didn't go. But I never wished that I went there. I am glad that I didn't, except when I watch this video here.
The story is that Santana wasn't supposed to play until later in the evening so they decided to do some acid and watch the bands play and that they would come down by the time it was their turn. But the band didn't show up in time and they said "You're on! Go!" right when they were peaking. You can tell by watching this performance. Look at the keyboard player! He looks like he is bugging out!

Seriously - Buckminster Fuller invented Fuller's Earth? I did not know that. Some kind of crazy genius he was!

And thanks for posting the Santana vid!! I don't wish I was at Woodstock, but I'm so glad it was captured on film and today we can watch it!! Especially the Santanna performance!! They were on fire!!! If I remember right, it was not only their first live performance, but their first album hadn't even been released yet, so nobody had the slightest idea who they were! And then al these dudes come strolling out with like 6 bongo players... it must have been like WTF!!??! But within moments they had utterly captivated the crowd, and the rest is history.

I am thinking of becoming a full fledged vegan. I was raised mostly vegetarian. I don't really like eggs more than very occasionally. I am allergic to dairy so I don't eat that. But I do eat seafood. I love salmon. I love sushi and seviche and poke (Po'Kay, a hawaiian raw fish dish). I love squid both raw and cooked when it is very fresh, otherwise it is too rubbery.
But I cannot justify the eating of animals just because I like the taste.
It took me many many many years to find out that I was allergic to dairy. My whole life I had suffered from eczema and it wasn't until last year that a light bulb went on above my head and I realized it was because of an allergy to something. I did two weeks without dairy, grains, nuts, or corn. My eczema cleared up so I first reintroduced wheat back to my diet. All good. I added nuts. All good. But then I had butter and I got all itchy again and flaky. It was the dairy!
I have always been very aware of my diet. Always buying organic and organic gardening. I have studied nutrition on my own and herbalism. Food is the first medicine. Your diet should keep your body in balance. If your body falls out of balance then you should turn to herbs as medicine. If you are not paying attention to your own body you may not realize that it is out of balance until you get sick with a chronic or acute condition. Herbs can still help, but western medicine starts becoming more necessary at this point.
Actually, food, yoga, meditation, and art are all tied for first place for medicine. The health of your body is influenced by the health of your subtle body. The health of your subtle body is influenced by the health of your thoughts and emotions.
The Buddha said that all suffering and all sickness and disease comes from ignorance that we are all one with everything. Indeed, in the science of longevity and physical immortality breathing and meditation are the cornerstone.
By realizing that we are all one and my commitment to reduce suffering as much as possible I will become a vegan. How selfish of me to justify the killing of an animal just because I like the taste! In fact, now that I gave up dairy cheese smells horrible. But I miss pizza :(
Healing is a great passion for me. I am interested in all forms of healing and therapies. I myself study Reiki and am third degree. I have had a few experiences using long distance reiki healing in dreams! This is always an amazing experience. I am especially good at healing the emotional or mental causes of physical disharmony. I use a method I discovered where I guide the client back to the time when the symptoms first manifested and heal whatever was going on in the client's life at the time.
We consume energy to live. We are rivers of energy. We should consume high quality energy in order to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Food is an energy we consume. We should not consume processed fast food. Ideas and thoughts are another energy we consume. We should make sure that the thoughts and ideas we consume are high quality also. We should refrain from mindless entertainment and especially movies or tv shows that are explicit in violence and suffering or any of the other poisonous emotions. These influence our dreams as well.


My reiki teacher is a raw-foodist. He is also into physical immortality. He is also a master lucid dreamer. He gives chiropractic adjustments over the telephone.
Someday, I may become a raw-foodist myself. But I don't think I can do that unless I live in a tropical place like Hawaii again. I kust don't feel right about buying all my food at the grocery store where it was picked before it was ripe and shipped, etc. If I was a raw-foodist I would only want to live off of local food, that is why I would have to live in Hawaii or Tahiti or Guam or Fiji or Vanuatu or maybe New Zealand! I would love to live in New Zealand (it is quite possibly the most beautiful place on Earth) but it is very very hard for foreigners to become full-time residents there. SO maybe I will find a nice island in the Caribbean or the Philippines or Thailand. But there are pirates over there. Okinawa would be nice but it is overcrowded and touristy also. I thought about Iceland but that is the opposite of what I am looking for here in this thread. I hear that there is a nice island off the coast of Puerto Rico that is shaped like a horseshoe or crescent. I don't want to live on the Canary islands even though hay muchas guapas por alli'.

I usually use just a normal journal but I thought it would be cool because it says dream journal on it.
AND... I found out that Robert Moss will be in town next week doing a book reading and autographing books! I am excited about that for sure!

And about becoming a full fledged vegan or raw foodest, I have a question, what about your cat? You have a kitty right? I know that some vegans feed their dogs tofu, but cats can't eat tofu. I'm trying to switch my cat to a healthier diet, so it's on my mind. Apparently a lot of organic cat food all led back to one company called Menu Foods, which was responsible for the last pet food recall. I'd feel terrible if I killed my cat because of something I fed her :shock:

I know that some people just argue "Don't have pets". But that's not a viable option now! So I started thinking about food, what's good food for her, what's good for me, and what's not so good for the environment and nature at whole.

Thinking about what's the best for Kitty and what's the best for me I sort of came to the same conclusion. The best food is wild :D. Right now most of our feline and canine friends eat other animals that we also raise. 'Grass farming' is the best kind of farming and seemed like the best kind of meat I could ever feed Kitty. Animals being raised on a 'grass farm' are living in paradise in comparison to, what are they called? COLFA's? But then, I started to wonder, are these animals so much happier, do they actually believe their human care takers will always take care of them, in the same way that Kitty thinks I will always take care of her?

Kitty could never do any wrong, because she's just a cat.

But there had to be a better alternative to feeding Kitty another animal also raised and taken care of by human. Then I asked myself, well, what were cats supposed to eat anyways? Little wild critters. I think I have a karmic obligation to care of Kitty, if only because I said I would. But I never made that kind of promise to a wild animal, and no wild animal expects it of me! Unlike a farmed raised animal that might.

The closest to wild I could ever feed Kitty right now is wild fish. The fish doesn't think you're going to take care of it. And unlike land based mammals, they can reproduce by the thousands. Fish are so naturally abundant, our over fishing problem could be resolved virtually over night. In a few years, the numbers can go back to normal. The same just isn't true for our four legged friends.

Humans like their big meaty fish, like tuna. But my cat isn't picky, plus she could never catch a tuna in her life anyways. If she ever does catch a fish, it's a little fresh water fish that no one is fishing anyways. So keeping this in mind. . . .

I started making a list of all the things I want to buy to start my garden. But then I had this insane crazy really weird thought. Why do I have to sow the seed? Doesn't nature know how to grow itself? Couldn't I let one generation of carrots, flower, pollinate, let their seeds drop to the floor, and sit back. Let nature do what it knows how to do......grow? Lol...am I that lazy? It just felt like the more I read gardening books the more it felt like we don't trust nature to do what it does best.

Wild just started to sound better. I go to the super market, and nothing inspires me :?. But when I see fruit growing on a tree, I think YUMMY. Its even crazier when I realize, the fruit doesn't look anywhere near as perfect as the fruit in the store. It would be nice to eat wild food. To know where food is coming from. And to rival this idea that some how, nature can't provide for us.

I imagined Kitty out on a fishing boat with a rod and reel catching a Tuna! Or pulling in a net.
That is interesting. I haven't thought too much about this. Dogs can live on a vegetarian diet but cats need too much protein to live off a vegetarian diet. Maybe if you mixed spirulina in. But then it isn't natural. Wild fish sounds good. My cat loves salmon and trout. The trout is so abundant over here that there is more trout than you can shake a stick at. I wonder if my cat needs a fishing licence?

Chapter One: Billie Jean



The phone rang at 11 pm. She fumbled through the empty cans of Hamms beer and old lottery tickets on her kitchen table for her phone. Maybe it was Daryl. It had been six months since she heard from him and today would've been their second anniversary. But it was just her older sister Barbara Jo.

"Billie Jean, how are you? I know today was your second anniversary."

"I am alright, just sitting here listening to the radio, watching the bug zapper and thinking about Daryl. I really miss him."

"I keep telling you that you gotta forget that loser. Him running off with that hoochie koochie woman is just a low down dirty thing to do. You deserve better than him. I know someone you should meet. His name is Bubba and he is a good Christian."

"Barby Jo, I ain't in no mood to go a datin' yet. I done told you that already."

"But you can take it slow. He's a trucker so he ain't around too much. You know you could use some company now and then to help your achin' heart. You are young and pretty still. It's a shame that you are just a wasting away in that trailer all lonely by yourself."

"I done told you, sis, I ain't ready for datin'. I ain't interested in no truckers either. You know I work at the truck stop diner. The last thing I want to do is come home after a long day at work to a greasy trucker. They ain't good for nothing, them truckers. Now lay off!"

"Sorry, Billie Jean. Just think 'bout it, that's all. By the way, how's ol' Cannonball?"

Billie Jean pulled out another Marlboro Menthol Light cigarette out and lit it from the butt of the one still burning. "Oh, Cannonball. He done just lay down and died the other day. He done tree his last coon. He was old, don't you know. Now he's in Doggy Heaven. I burried him underneath the ol' oak tree by the tire swing."

"Oh, I am just so sorry to hear that, Billy Jean. He sure was a good doggy. You were always so good with animals. Animals just seem to love you. You must be all broken up with that on top of that no good Daryl runnin off and all. It just breaks my heart to think about you all alone in yer trailer. Do you need anything? Can I do anything fo you?"

"No, I'll be alright. Listen sis, I'm gonna go to bed now. I'll call you tomorrow."

"Alright honey, you take care now, ya' hear?"

Billie Jean hung up the phone, lit another cigarette and took a swallow of beer. She sighed, and walked outside, leaving her screen door open, swinging gently in the slight breeze of the hot South Carolina summer night. She turned off the bug zapper and looked up at the stars. "Starlight Starbright, first star I see tonight I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight." She looked at the brightest star and closed her eyes and wished that she could find someone special. "Today I Started Loving You Again" by Merle Haggard came on the radio.

She thought to herself: "Maybe Barbara Jo was right. Maybe I should start dating again. But Daryl broke my heart and it ain't healed yet. I wish Daryl would come back." Billie Jean looked back up at the stars again and felt a warm breeze blow against her skin and through her long blond hair. For a moment she had a feeling that everything was going to be alright, that her problems weren't so big after all, and that if she would just lighten up she could get through this funk she was in. Maybe she could go to the pound and get another dog to love. Billie Jean took a deep breath and went back inside and sat down at her kitchen table.

Just then a rooster jumped up on the table! Poor Billie jean was so startled she nearly choked on her beer. The rooster commenced to dancing wildly on the table and staring at her.

He was the most magnificent rooster she had ever seen. Such plumage! Such charisma! Such animal magnetism! He was such a proud, handsome rooster! And how he could dance! Billie Jean had never seen anyone dance like that before.

"Why, hello there, rooster! You must've come in just now! Who are you and where did you come from?"


Chapter Two: Roscoe Rooster



This Rooster was named Roscoe and he was the son of Billy Bob Rooster. He had been all around the world. He had hitchhiked down to Mexico and barely made it back alive. He had found his way to Spain once where he teamed up with a gypsy guitarist. Rosco danced the flamenco while the gypsy played guitar and together they had made a small fortune. But one night the gypsy took off with all the money and Roscoe returned to America with no money and very malnourished. Roscoe had spent time on five continents and some South Pacific islands. He had been a ramblin man. But now he was tired of the uncertainty and he was ready to spread roots and relax for a while.

But Roscoe didn't tell any of this to Billie Jean. Instead, he just said "Roscoe is the name, and dancin is my game. I danced for princes and princesses. I don't remember where I come from but it can't be too far from here. I don't know where I'm going either. If you don't mind I would like to be yer guest for a night or two. I'm plumb broke and haven't eaten for a week. I don't need much, just a place to roost and some cornmeal or cereal or something. I'd appreciate yer hospitality." The rooster continued dancing while Billie Jean looked him over. He noticed that her pupils were large, and that was a good sign. He knew that no woman could resist his magic dance. He knew that she was falling under his spell.

"Of course you could stay here as long as you need until you get on yer feet again, Roscoe. My name is Billie Jean and I am glad to meet you. You can just make yerself at home. Would you like a bowl of Cheerios?"

"Yes, please ma'am. Don't mind if I do!" He quickly ate a bowl of cheerios and then another. "Do you mind if I have a cigarette?" he asked when he was done eating, eyeing the pack of Marlboro Light menthols laying on the table.

"For you? Of course, darlin'. You just help yerself to anything you want. There's beer in the fridge too." It seemed like forever since she had entertained a guest.

Together they finished a twelve pack of Hamms beer and smoked three packs of cigarettes while Roscoe told her tales of his travels and showed her his tattoos. She enjoyed his stories a lot and it took her mind off Daryl and Cannonball. She laughed for the first time in a long time and she even opened up and told Roscoe about Daryl and how he done run off. But she didn't seem sad when she talked of him. She seemed happy, as if the future was full of possibilities of new adventures and growth. That night she slept soundly in her bed while Roscoe perched up on the bed post. It comforted her to know he was there.

Chapter Three

The next morning Billy Jean was roused from her sleep rudely at the crack of dawn. It took Billie Jean a moment before she could make sense of what was going on. "Cockadoodledoo!" Roscoe kept crowing at the top of his lungs. "Cockadoodledoo!"

"Won't you be a dear and shut yer darn trap! Lord almighty, how long have I been asleep? A half hour?"

"Sorry, Ma'am. It's in my blood."

"Aw heck, I gotta go to work anyway." Billie Jean rubbed her eyes, yawned and climbed out of bed. After she showered and got ready for work she said "Help yerself to anything in the kitchen, ya hear? You just make yerself at home. I'll be home around three o'clock."

All day at the diner Billy Jean was thinking about Roscoe and how he danced on that table, and the hours of conversation they had. She was tempted to tell her friend and coworker Maggie about him, but for some reason she felt that she should hold off, and that now was not the time to tell anyone about Roscoe. She felt like there would be more to tell soon enough.

Work passed quickly and before she knew it her shift was over. She stopped by the grange and picked up a sack of corn feed and then she stopped by the gas station and got another case of Hamms and another carton of cigarettes. Today was Friday and she was looking forward to relaxing tonight and entertaining her new guest.

When she pulled in her driveway she saw Roscoe, strutting proudly on the lawn and pecking at little things on the ground. "Here Roscoe, I got you a sack of corn!" She poured a little out on the ground and watched as Roscoe pecked at it.

WHen Roscoe was done he sat back and lit a cigarette and said to Billie Jean "I can't thank ya enough, little lady, for yer hospitality. How was yer day at work?"

"Think nothing of it Roscoe. My day was fine, it went by so fast. How was yer day?"

"My day was good also. I just took it easy and looked around to see which way the wind blows round these parts."

That night Billie Jean cooked Macaroni and Cheese casserole and a pitcher of sweet tea. They ate well and then they commenced to drinking and talking on the front porch. They talked about everything: life, love, music, cars, pickup trucks, Sarah Palin, and Barack Obama. During a quiet moment late at night when they both seemed all talked out they both found themselves staring at the bug-zapper. The case of beer was almost gone and there was a pile of cans on the porch and in the yard.

"There is something romantic about a bug zapper on a hot summer night." Said Roscoe Rooster as he put his wing in Billie Jean's knee and looked at her with his beady little eyes.

The next moment they were both in bed. Billie Jean's clothes were thrown all over the floor and it sounded like some kind of crazy barnyard in there. But the next moment Roscoe was perched on top of the bedpost smoking a cigarette.

"That's it?" thought Billie Jean to herself. "It's over so quick? I don't even know if I felt anything." She sighed deeply and tried to shrug off the disappointment by sitting up and lighting herself a cigarette as well. Roscoe was distant and it didn't seem like they had anything left to say to each other.

The next day was Saturday and Billie Jean cleaned up around the house and picked up all the empty cans of beer and threw them in the garbage. She didn't really understand recycling. To her, recycling was something people did somewhere else, in some exotic faraway location. And she didn't really get the point of recycling. The cans disappear if you put them in the garbage, don't they?

She shared another pack of cigarettes with Roscoe at breakfast. And another by lunchtime. Roscoe just took it easy strutting around the yard and eating bugs and cornmeal.

It was two in the afternoon and pretty hot, and Billie Jean wanted a beer. She was all done picking up and sweeping. "Hey Roscoe, I am going on a beer run. I'll be back."

While she was out she also got a fifth of Jack Daniels whiskey. Billie Jean wasn't aware of it, but she was starting to feel confused again. It seemed that the spell of Roscoe Rooster was beginning to wear off.

Well, when she got back they ate hamburgers for dinner. The whole time she was drinking sweet tea and whiskey, but Roscoe didn't know it. They started on the beer after dinner and Billie Jean was feeling pretty loose. She let go of the frustration she was feeling and started to dance on the coffee table to a Patsy Cline song. Roscoe joined her and together they danced beautifully. Billie Jean felt the spell tug on her heart once again and they started kissing.

The next moment they were in bed, and the next moment Roscoe was perched on the bed-post smoking a cigarette. Billie Jean sighed and reached for a cigarette, but they were all gone. Roscoe took the last cigarette! Billie Jean had forgot to pick up a new carton while she was in town.

She jumped out of bed and put her nightgown on and started yelling at Roscoe. "Why would you take the last cigarette?! I work hard to buy those cigarettes while you stay home and eat my food and smoke my cigarettes and drink my beer!" Roscoe jumped and dodged an ashtray that Billie Jean threw at him. "Why don't you go fetch a new carton of cigarettes, you lazy bum?" She yelled, throwing a cat figurine that had been collecting dust on the window sill.

"Whoa woman!" Replied Roscoe. "Don't flip your bitch-switch. I was just making myself at home. Why do you got your panties all in a bunch for?" Roscoe was feeling very inconvenienced at the moment. He thought everything was going swell.

"I can't afford to be sharing all these Marlboros with you. Now all I can afford is the generics! You son of a bitch!" She started running at Roscoe with a hatchet. Roscoe ducked under the coffee table. Billie Jean knocked over the table and threw herself at Roscoe. He feinted to the left and then jumpedto the right up onto the back of the couch and ran along the length of it. Billie Jean tripped on the coffee table and hit the wall. The Bud Light mirror fell off and crashed on the floor with the dirty ashtray and cigarette butts. Roscoe ducked behind the TV and was clucking loudly. He was feeling VERY inconvenienced at this point. "Crazy bitch" he yelled at her.

But then he quickly became quiet since he realized he was looking down the double barrel of a shotgun. He swallowed nervously.

"Now you listen to me" said Billie Jean. "I want you to leave, you lazy son-of-a -bitch. I want you to walk out that door and never come back." She was all liquored up and pretty mad about her bud light mirror. Darryl had won that at the county fair for her.

Roscoe was silent for a moment as he thought of his options. He fixed her with his beady eye and said "Now listen honey, don't be like that. I thought everything was going good. I didn't know that you were dissatisfied. Come on Baby, that's the liquor talkin. You don't mean that. I'll tell you what, I'll make a deal with you: let's play a game of poker. If you win, I have to leave. If I win, you have to marry me."

Billie Jean put down her gun and collapsed on the couch. She gave up. She couldn't resist him when he looked at her that way. She went and fetched the cards.

You have a really awesome camera and eye :shock:. What kind of camera is it? Mine can't take nice close ups like that. . .

It is a Canon. It says Rebel XTI on it. It is very nice. The pictures are poster size and I have to resize them down a lot. I would like to make some posters. I photoshopped the picture of the Faerie kids but I am not happy with it. I will redo it sometime. I wanted the people in the background to be blurry but I made them too blurry and the chair that the one girl is leaning on shouldn't be blurry. But I like how it made an aura effect. But I will redo that one. But I love that picture of the kids. It is so candid. I also love the close-up of the magnolia flower. The magnolias are so beautiful right now. They are blooming all over the forests. And the dogwoods also. It is raining flowers.

I know! Sit back, paint a picture of your garden as it grows! Let the worms plow the fields! Consider the lilies in the fields, or the birds. They don't worry about tomorrow. Nature provides. Up in the arctic the Inuit live in houses made of snow and reindeer hides. They eat raw seal blubber. Nature provides for them, surely she provides for us. It is amazing how much food on this planet is consumed everyday! And how much goes to waste everyday! It is amazing to think of how many cans of tuna fish are in all the convenience stores around the world. Can they all really be tuna?

If we eat local, and know where I food comes from, we will appreciate it more. I try not to waste any food at all. I eat the tops of carrots. I eat the leaves of broccoli. I have a compost pile but I have a groundhog who lives under my porch who comes out and eats all my scraps before it turns to compost. But he is cute, just a huge ground squirrel. I don't mind him.

I am not good at finding enough food in the wild to live off. When I was a camper I definitely ate a lot of wild food: cat-tail roots, miner's lettuce, dandelion greens and dandelion fritters, nettles, cleavers, acorns, almonds, filberts, apples, asian pears, persimmons, sunchokes, thistles, walnuts. But I would've had to make it a full-time occupation in order to live off the land. I still bought rice and beans and tea.

But it could be done, especially if you were part of a community of hunter gatherers.

Some say that agriculture was where humans went wrong. That is when our psyche was split. I am not too familiar with the Biblical story of Agriculture, it has to do with Cain and Abel, no? Are they sons of Adam and Eve? If so, Agriculture was when we were expelled from the Garden of Eden (Eatin'). It definitely took knowledge to clear land and grow crops and save seeds.

But agriculture also gave us the freedom and time on our hands to ponder our place in this existence, and to express our deeper feelings with art, music, and dance. It gave us time to study the stars, to study numbers and mathematics, to develop culture.

Well, Juroara, can I be in your hunter/gatherer tribe? Or maybe just gatherer?

LOL! Okay! :shadewink: Not that I know anything about living off the land. But I'll get there one day.

I just came from a book reading and signing by Robert Moss. He is an old white-haired wizard kind of guy. It was very inspiring, he shared some very good insights only an elder can give. He spoke of how as dreamers we pay attention to our dreams during the night and coincidences during the day. Coincidences guide us. Let me quote him:

Navigating by synchronicity

"Do you pay attention to coincidence? By monitoring the play of coincidence and the symbolic resonance of incidents in everyday life, we can tap into the deeper logic of events, receive extraordinary counsel, and have wonderful fun. Navigating by synchronicity is the dreamer's way of operating in waking life. We can get guidance on our life issues by putting our questions to the world and opportunities that come through chance encounters and unexpected occurrences. We can learn to live more richly and deeply by becoming open to the unexpected and playing with the Trickster - who is our devil when we insist on following old road maps, but our friend when we are ready to improvise and change. This is a path of natural magic, and when we follow it we'll find that we move beyond self-limiting beliefs into a world filled with juice and possibility.

I had to do plenty of reality checks during the event since one of my dreamsigns is being in a school for dreaming or dream discussion with a teacher.

Rebirth of Pan in Rock & Roll

Since JHVH exiled Adam and Eve from the garden and blamed it on Eve and the Serpent and identified the forces of nature infernal and evil, humanity has lost touch with its deepest connections to life and death. The church has waged war on nature and the worship of divine forces in nature. After all the witch trials and inquisitions Pan was thought dead. News of Pan's death came to one Thamus, a sailor on his way to Italy by way of the island of Paxi. A divine voice hailed him across the salt water, "Thamus, are you there? When you reach Palodes, take care to proclaim that the great god Pan is dead." Which Thamus did, and the news was greeted from shore with groans and laments. But Pan did not die, but rather imprisoned in the underworld of our subconscious, forced to take on all the projections which we fear in ourselves. Thus, humanity, cut-off from the life-blood of Nature and the numinous quality of nature magic, lives now in a material world with only material forces. We don't listen to the voice of the goddess Intuition which whispers to us from our hearts and our right-brains.

Now Pan is the devil, falsely accused of the injustice man inflicts on each other out of ignorance of our oneness with each other and with Nature. But Pan is more powerful than the church, Pan is more powerful than any man-made doctrines. Pan bubbled up from the depths of our psyches and inspired Rock & Roll. Now, he gains acceptance as he throws off all the chains and projections imposed on him by us.

If only our culture could relearn how to recognize entities in abstraction.

but rather hang out with my friends who I haven't seen in a while.
I feel like I made a good choice.
Even though Robert Moss reminds me of my hero David Attenborough.

Where is she? I am looking for the executioner. Love is her axe.

When will it be? What can I do between now and then but
wait? And I grow old in the meantime. What if it doesn't happen?
What if I die an ordinary death again without it happening?

Hence the anguish. I need the Universe to breathe for me,
I don't have the will to anymore.
I am tired.

that I cannot go around
it all comes to this.

So today I was driving and I saw something. I pulled over and parked and walked over and found a dead vulture by the side of the road. I wonder if vultures will eat a dead vulture? I used a plastic bag as a glove and I picked it up and brought it into the woods away from the road and traffic. I lay it at the base of a tree and thanked it for its life force that it gave back. I lay some ginger snap cookies around him, I don't know why, and I cried. Not out of sadness for him, but just because my heart is heavy and this dead vulture was the only one who understood me. Someday, I will die all alone, and the memory of me will die also. And then I went back to my car, which was still running.

Who will remember the vulture? There is no security in good works and legacies. I will just die and leave no trace and it will be like I never existed. Even I will forget my own life, if there is an afterlife and/or reincarnation. Even I will not know who I am. I will lose consciousness, memory, mind, soul, and just be compost and food for vultures. Maybe somewhere else, someone else will be born as a small baby in this crazy world.

It is crazy that the more people there are in this world, the lonelier we all become.

And not to bring drug discussion into your thread, but reading some of your poems and thoughts while tripping (I've read them on LSD, and once on 2C-I) spawned some massively deep thoughts. In fact, reading this kind of stuff is one of my favorite things to do now (tripping or sober).

Lol! It is flattering that you think I am deep! Yes, this is natural for me. That is why sometimes I question my sanity. I can spout stuff like this but to me it seems amateurish, but that is me being critical of my poetry, since I am not a connoisseur of poetry. In fact, I don't really 'get' poetry and don't like most poetry. I like lyrics though, but I think music adds the missing feeling that I can't get from the written word. I hate going to poetry readings.

My approach is to write out my thoughts without trying to write poetry, because I don't really know how to write poetry. I don't know about meter and rhyming structures. But my thoughts come put somewhat poetic because that is the only way I can express them. There is a living juicy quality to my thoughts that I need to express. It isn't just the concepts I'm trying to express, but the life behind them that inspires them. Because what I am trying to express is not just mental concepts and intellectual theories and beliefs, but experiences and feelings. The true meaning is not in the words, but between the lines. The words are just to capture attention. Once I have your attention then I can draw your attention to the silences between the words. That is the real inspiration. That is where the truth of what I am expressing lies. Because, words can always be misunderstood and misinterpreted. That is why I posted those videos. But silence is the ground of being and is common to us all. When we are paying attention to silence, and our minds are in silence, mirroring, then we all are having the same experience. Then we are not only in communication, but we are in communion. A friend once said that I have a way with words, I guess that maybe I do. Probably because I am a quadruple Gemini!

Not to disregard everything you wrote, but what exactly is a quadruple Gemini? :shock: But yea that's why I like reading things like this on psychedelics. I can read in between the lines and understand it much more without trying, and basically as soon as the words leave my lips, it creates thoughts and ideas that I would of never "accomplished" or thought of, sober. It's almost like when I'm on a psychedelic substance, that my subconscious and my conscious thoughts interact at the same time, and relay thoughts to each other.

Haha, sorry if I sound like I'm just babbling on randomly. I'm quite new to psychedelics, and I've learned so much in such a short period of time, that's it is quite overwhelming. I can hardly express it. :panic:

Oh and also, I have a few questions about your Haunted Canyon experience. - First off, what all was REALLY real? Was the family RV, tent lady, and teenage party / cop all "real"?

- And do you think your shadow friend means something? What do you think he meant when he said you will meet someday later? Death?

- Also did you really trip for several days straight? Or was that just apart of the Datura effect? If it was several days of tripping, what were your friends doing in the mean time?

I don't want to condone Datura. Stay away from it! It is dangerous and deadly and is not fun or psychedelic. It is like spending days in an unlucid nightmare. And it is poisonous.

Maybe you think that I am deep because you are new to psychedelics and are learning so many things very fast, and I am experienced in them and am putting some things into words for you. No, I didn't know what I was getting myself into, although i was warned.

By the way, a quadruple Gemini is someone who has four planets in Gemini. I have the Sun (which is actually a star, not a planet) in Gemini, Mercury (It is common to have Mercury in the same sign as your Sun sign since it is very close to the Sun), Venus and Saturn all in Gemini. I have Jupiter in Aquarius!, and Moon in Pisces with a Sagittarius rising. I cannot remember where the other planets were when I was born. But one thing I do know, is that I have no planets in any Earth signs, hence that is why I am not a materialist.

So I am all moved in to my new house, thank God! I hate moving. I am unpacking now and thinking that I should get rid of a little furniture. I don't need all this. My possessions are possessing me. Anybody want a coffee table and/or a rocking chair with a footrest?

But, my new place is ALL ME! I can do whatever I want! My new place is my own little dreamworld! I want one of those full-body mirrors that is on a stand for dreamwork. Anybody want to trade?

Yes, I started on the garden earlier. The landlord is a friend of mine, which is sweet, and I have hung out here a lot for barbecues, potlucks, and such. When he decided to
rent it out he asked me if I was interested in living here. at the time I said no because I had a lease and stuff, but I thought about it and he wasn't really actively looking for someone else
and I decided OK. Broke my lease in town.

:lol: @ eating the cat. It does look a bit like an orca whale :P Congrats on the new place. I've always loved houses that are built around nature. You get to observe nature unlike living in an urban environment where you are pretty restricted with what you see :/

Nothing but me, the trees, the vegetables, the sky, the moon, the sun, the storms, and the computer and the cellphone (but those two are up to me), and my music collection and my instruments and my art supplies. But one needs other people to make music with, and I haven't lived in this area long enough to meet people that play music. None of my friends are artists or musicians, or into permaculture!!!! Back in Oregon, they all were.

So it is just me and my cat, like old times.

But my one of my oldest friends is coming to visit from Oregon today for a week and her and I are going camping and to a weekend music festival! I will make music all weekend with people!
I will meet a new musician friend whom I never met, but heard about through the grapevine through mutual friends.

Well, definitely a downside to it, but, if you could live in urban during winter and rural area during summer, it would be great, since, you would get the best of both places :)

The best would be to live in Southern Oregon and/or Northern California for the fall, travel for the winter, and live in Kaua'i the rest of the time!

I think my Cat got eaten by either a raccoon or a hawk. :( He has been gone for a long time. :( He never has been gone for over two hours before, and it has been a week now. We just moved here, he seemed settled. He hung out for a week going in and out freely and seemed content. Then one night he was here purring, he went outside and never came back. There is a huge raccoon out here that keeps getting the chickens. There are also hawks that keep getting the chickens. That night I went out and called for my cat and I saw the raccoon run away! My poor sweet cat is probably dead, and died in fear. I feel vengeful to the raccoon, but I don't know what to do. My friend offered me his shotgun but I don't feel like shooting the raccoon. My cat is already gone, vengeance won't bring him back. It may protect the chickens though, but honestly, I don't care about the chickens. I don't eat chicken and I don't eat eggs and the raccoon does so he can have them. The chickens make good compost though.

I miss my Cat! He was only a kitten, a big big kitten, but he was only 7 months old, and he slept in my bed with me every night since I got him. I need to let him go. If I encounter that raccoon face to face I may get crazy. I had a roommate that strangled a raccoon with his bare hands before. I won't do that, that is psycho. Plus, this raccoon is the size of a coyote or a chow dog and is likely to have rabies also.

One time while I was hitchhiking with my dog many years ago a raccoon was trying to get our food in the middle of the night. I sat up and yelled for my dog and he backed off a little just growling at the raccoon. It was dark. All I could see were the raccoon's beady eyes reflecting in the darkness about thirty feet away. I was worried for my dog, who was a puppy at the time. I grabbed a can of soup and threw it as hard as I could at those two eyes in the darkness and I heard a "KAPOWW" and the raccoon ran off whimpering and never came back. In the morning I found the can and it was dented in half and the seam was broken, oozing out spaghetti-Os. Two summers ago I had to keep a bear away all night long with nothing but a canoe oar. It was dark also and I didn't know how big the bear was. I thought I scared him away a few times and I would go to sleep only to hear him trying to get to my food again. One time I awoke to a snort about two feet behind my head and I jumped up with that boat oar and swung it around and yelled "Who-Bear!" That is what you say: "Who-bear!" The sound of "Who!" scares them a little. But the last time I saw him was at dawn when he came back from another angle and I ran up swinging the boat oar yelling "who-bear!" and I saw him trot away. He was kind of cute. He looked at me over his shoulder as he was running away and he looked like a sad dog that got in trouble and knew that he wasn't going to get any treats. But we made eye-contact and something passed between us, and I knew that I wouldn't see him anymore while I was camping. But I have a lot more respect for a bear than I have for a raccoon, but I don't know why.

Raccoons are like vultures. Disgusting little critters. I had a family of raccoons living in the garage attic at my old house. They would climb on my dad's car and scratch and poop all over it. And leaving trash everywhere. They were so gross. I don't even know how they kept getting into our garage.

But anyways, would a raccoon really kill a cat? Either way, he's a nuisance. If he has rabies, you should go ahead and kill it. I hate killing other living things, but chances are, if he has rabies, there isn't much soul left in him anyways. And I can't imagine rabies being enjoyable for him.

What was your cat's name? :(

He never told me.

Cats are funny. He may still come back. A raccoon would have a hard time catching a cat, and even if he seemed comfortable in the new place, it wouldn't take much to spook him into hiding out for awhile. I'd say leave a bowl of food out for him, but the raccoon will just get it. If you do end up shooting it though, that would be a good option.

I really miss my cat.

:( It sounds like your cat got too curious, that's just the nature of cats. I'm sorry. I'm really protective of Kitty, maybe too protective. I don't let her play outside unless she's being supervised. Shes so used to it now, if I do let her outside alone, in a minute or so, she'll come running back upstairs and meow, until someone joins her.
