Hiya.. I'm bored and a conversation in another thread triggered this post.

Since not everyone feels that they can contribute to "lucidity" posts.. here is an opportunity for everyone to tell a small bit about themselves! YIPPEE!! :banana:

So tell us about your "relationship" status.

Ok.. I'll start.

I've been happily married over 10 years (second times a charm) and I have one son.

I've been happily married under 10 years (about a year and a half now, since October 2005). First and only marriage for both of us, and we don't have any kids. Not sure if we'll ever want kids. So we have our animals - Titus (brown tabby cat), Cloud (Tonkinese cat), and Red XIII (red/rust Doberman dog).

19 years this year. The bliss just keeps getting blissier.

(And I don't mean even the slightest hint of sarcasm there. I never dreamed it could just keep getting better... but it does.)

Erm... with children - but didn't see that option on the poll.

I can unhappily say none of the above :(

I'm a pitiful, lonely loser... Umm, I mean single guy. I've been engaged once and "unofficially" engaged once. I always end up falling victim to cheating, unfaithful women. I've all but completely given up on the concept of not being hopelessly lonely.

I have a roommate so I'm not "lonely" but, in the romantic sense, I'm completely lost and abysmally discouraged and frustrated.

However, I'd love to be married. Now accepting applications.

You may be alone but you're not a lonely "loser" and you should never think of yourself that way :nono: (I honestly believe that what you think.. you can bring about)!

On the real though, maybe you need to rethink your method of selecting women to date if you always end up with cheating unfaithful ones. I don't know you so I don't know what you look for in a woman (i.e., looks, brains, looks, personality, looks.. :bigteeth: ) but try and broaden your horizons and you may be pleasantly surprised with what you'll find. Just my 2 cents!

NeAvo, you're only 17 per your profile.. so you've got LOTS of time to experience all the happiness and heartbreaks of a relationship... it'll happen!

Oh and pj, I did notice that I forgot to add "married with children" on the poll but it wouldn't let me go back and edit the poll information. :? (and I agree with you.. when you're with the right person.. it does get blissier) :content:

After all this time she still makes me feel funny! :p

Well I was in a relationship for 2.5 years and I made the choice to end it. :( :( :( Must be for the best, right... if instead of just thinking about breaking up I went ahead and did it??

And right now I have a, errr, loverrrrr with whom I shall be shortly traveling with to Austria. :banana: :banana: :banana:

Well, I don't consider myself a "loser". That was just a way of saying that I don't do well with the ladies. It's funny, back in my band days I had the women throwing themselves at me (I could never understand what's so appealing about musicians) and I turned almost every one down. Why? Because I don't like "that kind" of woman. Women out "on the prowl" scare the hell out of me. They never seem to be the kind you can trust in many ways. They're either out screwing everything they can or they're meth addicts, or both. I'm sick of the games.

Anyway, I'v e never gotten into a serious relationship with anyone I've met in that manner. I'd rather be single than waste my time with those who don't share my values and priorities in life.

But, even the non-bar girls have managed to screw me over. Even more discouraging is that I treat my woman (when I have one) with great love and consideration. I'm a giving guy. In many respects, I'm very selfless. I'd rather give than receive. That's how I've always been. It all comes down to I have no idea what the hell woman want and I'm tired of worrying about it. I give my all and it's never enough, apparently.

Therein lies my hindrance. I never go to where the women are so I have a near-impossible time meeting people. The women I've asked out in the past few years have all been "taken". I actually have found that they were indeed not single so at least I don't feel lied to or just plain brushed off. But, there again, it seems as though every good woman is already spoken for, leaving only those I avoid for me to pick from. That's promising :rolleyes:

So yeah, I've given up. It's easier that way.

Adam, you've been to Austria?? Can you tell me about it.. I'm too lazy to read up on it. :? I'm going to Vienna and Salzburg.

Oneironaught, that's exactly how I feel about men! ;) That all the good ones are taken. But logically I know that's not true.. it's just a little disheartening sometimes to see couples left and right holding hands on the street.

Sometimes I feel like I've made a mistake by ending the relationship because I've lost that sense of security.. but, usually I'm pretty optimistic that there is SOMEONE OUT THERE (who could do to HURRY UP AND GET OVER HERE). :D

I'm happily single (but browsing.) Got out of a bad relationship a few years ago, and became a single dad for about 3 years. I haven't been really looking for anything serious, lately, but have been open to anything. After the last relationship, I've become kind of picky while 'browsing,' (able to see where Oneironaught is coming from.) I'm coming out of a bunch of big changes in my life and just starting to get back on my feet, so I've been a little more serious about looking for another steady relationship. I'm in no hurry, though, because I'm doing a lot of good things, for myself, that I don't think I'd have the time to do, if I was seriously involved with someone.

I've been with T for about 11 years, living together about 10. Three cats and three dogs. Three different states. Recently, a leaky toilet that we changed the seal on three times before we realized it was really leaking from the tank. Now that takes true love to get thru. (I did make a discovery--heating the wax up with a blow-dryer makes it much easier to scrape off--I didn't see this tip anywhere in our research.)

Gh, don't be discouraged. I had to go thru a few before I found T too. As you get older it does get harder to find people that you like (age seems to be inversely proportional to the ability to overlook someone's flaws), but when you do find someone, they are more likely to be the right person for you and you are more likely to be able to stick with them. And I'm sure there should be a favorable available woman:man ratio at your age, which should only get better as time goes on. Not that a lot of time is going to go on before you find someone...

In the seduction world you would be called an AFC (Average Frustrated chump). Don't feel alone This is a North american wide phenomena.

Was staying an Bad MIttendorf and visited Bad Ausse and surrounding areas. Been twice this year. A friend of mine has some properties out there, a house and just bought a new hotel too so get to go a lot!

Its a lovely country! So peaceful, and really clean! The people have full respect for each other, when I damaged my shoulder snowboarding, I had to go to hospital and EVERYONE said hello and goodbye to each other! It was incredible! You don't get people like that here in the UK!

Well, i've been happily living with my boyfriend who i met on here for the last three months. We've been together two years in september, he still gives me butterflies. I was worried that seeing him every day would take the shine off it, but it doesn't. There's nothing better than loving and being loved, i say.

I am, in a relationship with a girl who I want to marry, lived with for a few months but then she moved 1600kms away (1000miles) to do a practical experience job for her chefs course. So shes been there for 6 months, and I've been here, living with her parents. Which is a bit weird. But cool.

So that's my story. We're going on a working holiday in Europe next year january, and we'll see what happens from there.
