It's been several years now since my computer geek days, but hostname might be a possibility. I used to run a M.U.D. back in the day (yeah.......) and I would regularly ban by hostname rather than IP address as they were somewhat less susceptible to change.Quote:

It is almost certainly done by Windows Registry alterations brought about by the client-end software. That's how most of the free trial software I've seen usually works.
During the installation process I could see what the installer was doing. It was changing a file called system32, which is probably so important your computer can't live without it.Quote:

In some cases servers pick up that you're coming from a Tor server, in which case you can flush the network to get a different server.
You can also try the many webproxies available such as anonymouse, searching google for "myspace proxy" should get you plenty.
You may have problems now that you've installed software from the site, theres many ways round that however if it comes to it.
