ridiculous dreams not making me RC

ok so since i have been practicing LD techniques for about 3 weeks now, i have tried numerous lucid aids like Calea Z, Vitamin B6, Valerian Root, Gingko Biloba, all to no avail. I bought melatonin today, so I will try that later.
I RC around 5 times a day, and I usually do so whenever something weird/unusual happens.
Last night i dreamt that a giant horse about the size of a blue whale was chasing me... But it didn't strike me as odd?
Any tips on how to truly recognize the weird stuff in dreams so the logicical part of my brain kicks in?
I'm going to start Dual-N-Back training which is supposed to help with this, and i think my dreams just need to be more vivid. (melatonin? nicotine patches?)

Well when your dreaming, the logic center of your brain turns off. (From what I have read). This is why it's hard to recognize things like a giant horse chasing you. I'm going to test something out but maybe you can help me. What I was thinking is that if you can train yourself to wake yourself up in every dream you have, you can turn that into instead of waking yourself up, you reality check. I was thinking this because you will have to have a little bit of awareness to be able to wake yourself up in a dream and if you can train yourself to wake yourself up during a dream, you may start to become more aware that your dreaming in every dream you have before you actually wake your self up. And before you start to wake yourself up, you will start to think things like, "I need to wake myself up. Wait I'm dreaming!" This is why I think people who have frequent nightmares tend to have more lucid dreams. The wake themselves up to the point that the know there dreaming.

So if you would like to try that out, just tell me if it works for you. ;) (I would myself but i'm currently working on WILDing).

Ahhh so youre saying I use auto-suggestion to make myself wake up after dreams? I have been getting better at that recently, where I wake up from dreams with my eyes closed and my body still. I should try to do this every night.
