In my opinion, it really depends on the individual. Different techniques, work on different people depending on them. I find WILDing to be the easiest way to induce a lucid dream, while MANY others would disagree.

I agree with Mancon, different techniques suite different people, I also find WILD'ing easier than DILD's. DEILD's can be easy if you are good at remaining calm after a dream, but if you are at the end of your REM cycle, I think you would be lying there for a long time until your next cycle, pretty much a WILD
I had a lucid dream thanks to this tutorial! I chained 2 lucid thanks man! no lie I thought it was harder than that but no:P it was really easy:)) I'll write what happened in my dream journal!
On the one hand I should be a natural for DEILD because I always lay perfectly still without opening my eyes and think about the dream when I wake up. On the other hand I tend to take a long time to fall back asleep - though I think if I use a timer that I don't need to move to shut off that might do the trick.
Now for the hard part... I don't use a cell phone and my computer isn't near my bed - does anybody know of a timer I could use? I'd be willing to get an MP3 player or some sort of device as long as I don't have to buy a plan for it.
I'm experimenting with one of these at the moment:

I have a fan on all night but set it so it goes off at 6.30am. A sort of "Alarm in reverse" if you like. Hoping it will raise my awareness enough to attempt DEILD and the Michael Rudaga methods. Also, the device itself makes a "click" when it goes to an "off" position. I'll be experimenting to see if I can use that in the longer term.
