I have a bit of a problem attaining lucidity.

I can remember 2-3 dreams per night now, and I know that one of my dream signs are characters from certain TV series.
Each time I see one of them, I do a few reality checks. I remember to perform one even when I'm drunk, sleepy or whatever.

Sadly, this won't apply to my dreams. I remember dreaming about those signs, but without performing reality checks. That's my 1st problem.

2nd one similar - since I can attain lucidity through other ways, sometimes I succeed. And when I want to perform a reality check to stabilize my dream ... they won't work.
I can read normally. The time is just fine. When I look in the mirror I see myself, without any deviations. And so on.
My brain won't even let me change my location, or summon someone/something.

It's happening recently, for about 3-4 weeks - I had quite a few lucid dreams with my complete control before that. I haven't obtained them with reality checks, but they worked when I wanted to stabilize my dream.

And one more thing... can one feel pain while dreaming? Physical pain.
Lately my normal dreams have changed a bit, and I don't think I like that change.

It would probably help, if you added daytime awareness and mantras to your RCs. You can check out this complete guide for DILDs.

RCs are to confirm that you are in a dream. For stabilizing, you can try other things, like rubbing your hands. Here is a tutorial for stabilizing. And here for control. Happy dreams:)

I have not felt pain in a lucid dream. However, I do sometimes have the sensation of touch as I rub my dream hands over objects just to get a sense of their texture. Ergo, one could extrapolate that pain in a lucid could be possible.

In my handful of LD's, I've never done a RC to get lucid. I always do them after I become lucid as a way to sort of confirm.

Although you won't actually be harmed in your dreams, yes you can feel pain. Many people have reported feeling the pain, and even though it is just your brain telling you 'you are in pain' it still sends the signals that say 'ouch!' or whatever.

Maybe you should add some more RCs? The ones you used to use maybe you have gotten used to them? When you practice RCs in the day, don't just do them off hand or casually - really think why you are doing it, question your reality and surroundings and make a big deal of doing an RC, like you could really be dreaming.
