There's some really great stuff here, Zoth! I'll deserves a very close careful study.

I'm just beginning to work on ADA/RC (continuous awareness of a particular RC) of location (including transitions) I think it will work well for me since in dreams I have a pretty good sense of being oriented in the dream-world (I can often draw an overhead map of my path through the dream and mark where certain events occurred). I want to work on this ADA/RC for at least a few months before trying anything else but your DIPE looks like something to try if ADA/RC doesn't work out. For now ADA/RC has taken the place of prospective memory exercises for what my mind's busy with "in the background" during the day. I still do regular physical/mental RCs, and Sageous-style RRCs, whenever anything unexpected/surprising/out-of-the-ordinary occurs, and also have an app prompting me every 20 minutes or so. I don't always get to respond to every notification (like when I'm in the gym), but I try to as much as possible.

It's time-consuming to choose and track progress of 10-12 prospective targets throughout the day. I know there's an android app for this but I want an iOS one. Haven't found one so far, so I may write one myself :).

edit: I think a research thread is a great idea. Can you describe what sorts of results you've experienced yourself? What your lucid history is, your frequency before it, your frequency after it, and so on. It's probably better to use more experienced LDers for the study since with beginners it's hard to tell the difference between natural progression of increased frequency just by spending time on any LD practice, versus the gains from DIPE.

edit 2: one more thing. In LDing there is no one-size-fits-all. For some people, the "P" in DIPE may make sense. I do have some recurrent characters but they do not occur at the frequency I'd like to have in LDs. Much more reliable for me is location: I have a location that occurs almost every night it seems (although now that I'm focusing on it, it hasn't occurred in over a week, doh!).

So while displacement and emotions are probably applicable to everyone, People may not be. Everyone should choose those elements that are likely to make them lucid using careful reading of their dream journals.

What is the actual maneuver you perform when the clue get´s realized by you?

Is your reality-check more one of a mental assessment of the respective dimension - and if - how?
Do you do the same in real life as you do in a dream, or are you always reasonably sure about each?
Like in real-life doing something inconspicuous, but when you are reasonably sure you dream - rather something extremer, to really be sure and several times the nose plug for me like it lately was.
But I do not enjoy doing this in reality..?
Where am I erring about, around and along?
What to do?

You can use experienced LDers. But if you get LDers too experienced, it screws up the whole process. That is why when I think about how things work for a pparticular group, I like to see how it works for people that aren't long timers, but are trying, like <100 LDs. Especially since with any technique, you are going to be advertising it to noons normally. Sooooo when I picked a technique at the beginning, I picked the one that had the highest success rate from the start. It was just a bonus that the more you do it, the easier it gets and the better you become (RCs, mantra, visualization). Of course as things change, everything gets more and more refined, but it is a great start because if you do it, you will LD, it might just take a while for it to click, but when it does click, "what is the difference from this night and the night I LDed?" Is a good question to ask yourself.

Sorry to ramble. :P I have been thinking about trying some prospective memory to supplement my routine. Might be something I try when I have some extra time.
