Still no luck
Hi all,
I posted before about having difficulty achieving lucidity. I began doing regular reality checks, following the advice I was given and I experienced a possible 5-10 second lucid dream on my second day of doing reality checks. I kept the regular reality checks up for about 10 days but when I got no more results I started to forget to do them, over the holiday I forgot to even write in my dream journal most nights.
It's been four weeks since I experienced the possible 10 second lucid dream and three since I stopped writing in my dream journal. My dream recall is terrible now, I can hardly remember a dream when I wake up anymore and it used to be quite good.
I'm not sure what to do, I still really want to learn but my enthusiasm is nearly completely gone, I feel like Im someone who is just unable to grasp it as I was trying for over two months before the holidays.
How can I get back to it? How can i Bring my dream recall back and get enthusiastic again? Is it normal for it to take this long? Did any of you hit a stopping point when you were learning? Any encouragement is highly appreciated!

I don't think you are not able to grasp it, since you already had a lucid dream. Even if short, first ones are normally like that. First one was possibly fueled by more excitement than by practice. But the next LDs will be most likely fueled by practice more than excitement.
To remind you to do RCs and write in a DJ - give yourself some reminders. Write a note on a desk to keep up with your DJ. But if you forgetting your DJ, that means you not really waking up from some cool dreams and you not thinking about dreams. That's the root of the problem.
So to stop the vicious circle of no dreams - no recall - no interest, you have to write in DJ. Have to think about dreams, be happy when you get one, be thankfull for them.
Re-read some tutorials, and read some new ones. Read other peoples DJ. make your plan of what to do in LD - write it in your DJ, make a drawing, daydream about it, be excited when you think about it. But you can't force it. You could also take a few days break untill you build up your exctement and the Want.
Here is something about dream recall and other info about DILD.
This WILD (sageous) tutorial is very good for DILDs too. Good luck:alien:

I have stopped many times, dream recall have gone up and down, until I understood why. Lucidity have gone up and down until I understood why.
All I can say is that in order to progress you need to learn from your experiences.
And what I have learned most from is my failures. So if you don't get your desired result like recall or lucidity, don't scream in pain, instead learn and gain. :meditate:
Don't see the lucid dreaming as something that will automatically work by following a method, because there is no method that can provide you success every time.
Learning to lucid dream is not different to anything else, for example if you want to learn to make a really good job interview, you can't expect to succeed the first time.
If you do, you will get angry and dissapointed by the fact that you failed, instead practise and do many job interviews until you learn how it should be done.
Learn by doing, not by reading. :)
There are of course books that you can get on how to do the best interview, but you can't expect that to be a bullet proof way, but rather see it as a tool of learning.
Read the methods to get an overview of how it is like, and let the method help you rather than solve it for you.
Another analogy, let's say you have a math problem, what is the best teacher? The one that gives you the answer right away or the teacher that try to teach you the theory and principles behind the problem and then make you solve it yourself? :)
I think you get my point :content: Anyway I will give you a tool that have helped a few others to get their dream recall started:

Good luck and if you ever need help, don't heistate to ask.
Sweet dreams!
