If you are talking to me, which I assume you are, I think someone might have posted it here ages ago. I can't quite remember though.Quote:

And it is a really good technique so I suggest you try it.
My method is similar to that. Only, my mom throws fits when I write on my hand, so I mark my left thumb with an L (for lucid, of course!). It's really more of a reminder to RC than the RC itself, but it's the same principle. I've grown so used to it being there that it appears on my hand in dreams with some regulararity.
That's actually a very good idea, im going to try that :)Quote:

Danski, the idea of writting "AWAKE" on you hand does sound GENIUS. Im going to try that and give it some time to sink into my sub-conscious mind and if the success rate is good, I'll treat for new tattoos......thanks 4 advice! Seth, have u ever tried HILD. I read about it in the tutorials section in DV for the first time last night and sounded like a good technique. if anyone else has had success with HILD please fill me in.[/quote]

 :!:
Oh yes I rember now. I have tryed it but I cant rember all of it and sometimes after I do it I dont even get any sleep. That is another good idiea though beceases I dont want to leave it up to luck with mild or something like that ; WILD juest makes me tird when I fail so this may be the best way to lucid for me right now. I'll try this for a couple of days and see what happens. (Thx for reminding me about HILD. :) )
try keeping with the dream recall, dream journall, and reality checks, once i started looknig for shortcuts, and other methods, i was trying to hard, and couldnt, i went back to the old method for some time and i started recalling my dreams again and just had my first self induced lucid.
it dosent hurt to back off somewhat for a week or two and try this, plus its not that much effort what so ever. if not you can alway go back to trying to WILD and such.
By the way, Seth, your signature is quite a HUGE one. The rules say that sig picture should not be more than 480 x 150.
to wtrskirocks: I never stopped with dream recal and journal I juest did it in cunjunction with the other stuff :undecided:
To Hate: Really? Darn I really liked that pic. Are you shure about that?

The WILD is the hardest method and must take a lot of practice. Stephen LaBerge says that only something like 10 percent (if I remember the correct percentage) of people are able to be Hypnotized and that is way only a small percent of people are successful at WILD. The good news is that the other methods are easier and anyone should be able to do it. I to am working at mild and have not achieved many but am not about to give up. There are to many positive things to look forward to and I think it will pay. I will be upgrading my list of dream signs and working at it even more. The way to use a dream sign is to find things from your journal that you do in every day life. My top thing is driving. I do that a lot in my dreams so I’m going to start RCs every time I drive. I have not mastered that as of yet but once I do then I will add the next most common thing. I just started to make a list with a value system with driving being number one. Hope this helps.
my problem with wild is, when i get really deep into it where i can feel my mind drifting to sleep, i make myself stay awake but my mouth opens slowly or my tongue falls in my thoat. any advice
sorry but i dont have any advice for that and wild to me seems easy (even though i havent done it yet) but seince i've gotten so close oviosly i can do it and also what does hypontism have to do with wild with hild maby but wild?
WILD = wake induced lucid dream
HILD= hypontis induced lucid dream
i tried hild but it kinda turned into a wild attempt. i think hild is a cross between mild and wild kinda.
Actually WILD = Wake Initiated Lucid Dream. Just like DILD = Dream Initiated Lucid Dream. These two are "initiated" as they're the ways an LD can begin - either by going into dream conscious, or becoming conscious in a dream.Quote:

Oh yeah duh
SAME THING
Yeah it's the same thing really. That's what I like about the -ILD names, they're flexible: Wake Intitiated Lucid Dream, Waking Induction of Lucid Dreams, etc. It's the same acronym but can refer to the dream or the technique. And some techniques are more like induction, some more like initiation, but they're always some kind of -ILD.
The HILD method worked really well for me. Just a day after like it said on the tutorial I had the longest, most vivid lucid dream that I had complete control over. And it was only my second LD. It lasted about 3 hours irlt.
I just recently heard about and tried the HILD method this month and had some success but no LDs yet(from HILD). I'm curious how you went about with the technique. Was it after sleeping a few hours or immediatley when you went to sleep? Did you consciously enter the dream? Any details will be very helpful. I'd like to hear about the dream too if you want to share it. Feel free to send me a private message if you dont want to post it.Quote:

Here is a link to my dream: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19309 I did the HILD method on friday or something and then on sunday I woke up in the middle of the night at 4:10(for some random reason) and went back to sleep. Thats when I had my lucid dream. The bad thing is that I've only had 1 LD from it so far so I'm gonna try it a few more times so it gets all programmed into my mind and stuff. :P I'm also adding a few things from tips I found on hypnosis like exchanging habits or saying things in present tense and stuff... I never thought about this but instead of doing the hypnosis then going on normally you can just use the relaxed state you are in and then hypnotize yourself to wild. (Like telling yourself to count to ten and then you will be on the edge of awake and sleep) And oh yeah I used the same method from the HILD tutorial in the tutorials section.
Thanks for the reply. The info was very useful. I'll get back to you on any success I have with HILD. I think the biggest problem I have is that I fall asleep before I get to the dream. I'll have to work on that. Let me know if you have any good tips on keeping conscious till you get to the dream. I read your dream too. Sounded awesome!
