DILD is probably the core of most members style. After you have good DILD abilities LDs will just randomly throw themselves at you for the rest of your life.
WILD is tricky at first, and involves waking up in the middle of the night, plus tons of experimenting to get it right. Most of us use both, but in the long run it is DILD that comes with little effort. DILD can be enhanced through ritual actions like mantras or dream incubation, in which case you can call it MILD.
If you get the hang of both, there is DEILD which works stunningly well. I really think reading all about DILD/MILD is the place to start.
I usually use a few techniques and methods. WILD, DILD/MILD, DEILD. I started with WILD though and was successful with it. Now i get more DILDs than WILDs though, but i am fine with it because technique does not matters that much in quality of lucid dream for me, i have had both awesome DILDs and awesome WILDs. Also recently i had some success with DEILD as well. :)

I use ADA (All Day Awareness) for my DILDing and use DEILD to chain lucid dreams together. Every now and then I like to WILD as well, but mainly I stick to ADA. I've been very successful over the years, but its taken quite a bit of effort and practice for sure.
Thanks everyone! It is interesting that everyone so far uses multiple methods. So far i have been using variations of Ada with reality checks. I have been trying to figure out my dream signs as well. Before bed i meditate and use mild. Then lately i have been using SENSORY INDUCED LUCID DREAM METHOD before bed and in the middle of the night after struggling to use WILD without any success. Do you have any comments, suggestions or improvements i could make to my methods. It's been a month so far and i have had little success although i do remember my dreams better.
Others may have a different opinion, but it seems like you could actually be trying TOO hard. It almost seems like you are trying to do every method in one day. I would put my efforts in to one or two methods and really practice them. Then if they aren't working try another method.
I definitely back this line of thinking.
@OP - Definitely, make sure you aren't trying too hard. That can cause stress and overexertion. Both are very bad for lucid dreaming and dreaming in general. Make sure you keep yourself relaxed and enjoy the art of learning lucid dreaming. Not saying you are doing this, but always keep in mind that you can definitely try too hard when it comes to lucid dreaming.
My favourite method involves no method at all.
Just having a spontanious lucid dream seems to be more fun than inducing one.
Here are a bunch of brand new techniques!!!

Maybe they will catch on? :)
As the posters here have already implied, successful lucid dreaming is not about techniques at all, Waitwhat; it's about having your mind in the right state. At the risk of shameless self-promotion, and because I don't feel lke typing it all over again, you might check out my Lucid Dreaming Fundamentals thread, where we discuss the idea that self-awareness, memory, and expectations/intentions are far more important than any technique and, conversely, when you have the fundamentals in place, any technique will work just fine for you.
Because of my sleep-schedule, I find it very easy to WILD because I naturally wake up in the middle of the night a lot. I've also gotten very good at inducing WILDs without experiencing SP.
I am most often successful when I use what I call (and probably many before me) a WIDILD - Wake Induced DILD. I go to bed at a reasonable hour, and wake up around Six AM. I stay up for a few minutes, stand up, write my dreams down that I have had so far, and then right down my mantra a few times, write down a goal, and then stick my notebook under my pillow. At this stage I am still tired, but now I have reasserted that I want to Lucid dream, and that I will realize I am dreaming. My body is sleepy but my mind is more active, and this usually leads to me becoming lucid about halfway through whatever my next dream is. It also doesn't leave me groggy in the morning like a 4AM WBTB would.
Thats my strategy!
Challenging my natural naive realism is my favourite technique for Lucid Living/ Lucid Dreaming. More than a technique, though.
Mine by far would be Reality Checks mixed with MILD and Anchors.
In depth Dream Recall is also critical to using the above and helps a great deal with Lucidity.
Mine would certainly have to be DILDing with forms of ADA. As said by one of the posters, once you're proficient at DILD, you have it for life. I'd love to try WILD but I seem to have some sort of a fear of hypnagogic imagery...:furious:
DILD is my most common form of attaining lucidity, and awesome every time.
Personally, WILD is my method. Although I guess what I do, people prefer to call DEILD. Entering the dream from waking consciousness is just an awesome experience. For me, each transition is a usually a little different and I find it fun to see what Is going to happen each time.
