What's up everyone. Last night I had a lucid where I woke up in my bed, and walked into my living room. I opened my front door and went outside. Then the dream faded. This dream happened twice, then another dream. Which I was not very lucid, but aware. I've only had two lucids before this. Now two in one night?
That's awesome.
What technique's you using? And how long you been trying for?
I've finally got back into trying for LD's. Been trying for just over a week, I can almost taste it!
If the dreams were one after the other, there's every chance that it was just a basic scene change.
If not, then yes, you had two lucid dreams in one night, congratulations! :P
Funny enough, last night when I mentioned I could almost taste a LD was coming along, ta da! I had a my first since I started getting back into the swing of it :)

This is the Actors Method AKA Dry spell killer.
Upon laying down to sleep you need to alter your state of mind. Basically, act as if you are an expert/experienced lucid dreamer and you know 100% that you will have a lucid dream. Don't only say/think to yourself that you will have a lucid dream, but truly 100% believe that you will achieve your goal easily. The best way to describe this "state of mind alteration" is to compare it to acting. Many actors and actresses "get into character" for their particular roles. They will spend several days (or even longer depending on the actor/actress) acting as if they are a completely different person to better prepare and play their role. Basically, you are trying to "get into the character" of an experienced/expert lucid dreamer. You could even go as far as getting into the character of "The Best Lucid Dreamer Ever." The idea is to fall asleep knowing and expecting yourself to become lucid, because you have done it millions of times before and it is easy for you. If you can do it correctly, and truly convince yourself that you will achieve lucidity, than it will greatly raise your chances of success. During a dry spell, I do this for as many nights as I need to break it. I usually am able to overcome my dry spell the very first night trying. Make sure that if you do not succeed, that you stay "in-character" and tell yourself/convince yourself that last night was a fluke and there is no way you won't become lucid the next night. You would be surprised how well this simple method can work. All it takes is a bit of "acting" !
Everything I've read says to only use positive assertions in mantras / autosuggestion phrases since the subconscious tends to ignore negatives. You could be getting the opposite effect of what you want! Rather say, "I remain still when I awaken", "My eyes remain closed when I awaken".Quote:

I used it to achieve my first DILD since returning back to lucid dreaming 3 weeks ago. About 5 mins before bed, I paced up and down my room acting as if I was a cocky lucid dreaming god. I was even doing the facial expressions, of someone that was acting cocky. Really tried to get myself into character. As I got into bed, I was thinking of how good I was and how I am the master of lucid dreaming and have them every night. I even was thinking about the paparazzi that would be out the front of my house when I left in the morning. I was that good at lucid dreaming, that I was actually famous.Quote:

It sounds silly, but I think that was how I had the DILD. I wasn't perfect and my mind did doubt what I was saying from time to time, but you just got to keep it up and try to leave that in your mind as you fall sleep.

Yep, you're right. I changed up my mantras to ''I remember to not move, and keep my eyes closed when I awake up''. I'm thinking of shortening it, by saying 2 separate mantras like what you mentioned.Quote:
