Which technique is the best for me can anyone help me figure out?

OK, so i'm interested in lucid dreaming but can't figure out which technique to use.
The problem with reality checks is that i am forgetful and cannot remember to do so. I cannot attain the mind-awake-body-asleep state and have tried WILD without much success. The only time i have been close to having an LD was reciting "I'll have a LD "100 times i had a faint realization of it being a dream but just woke up with a start. I'll sincerely try any advice which i find useful.

If you can't remember doing reality checks during the day, you got to train your prospective memory. Pick some objects in the morning and do a reality check everytime you see it during the day. You could pick a yellow car, or your phone, and try to do a RC everytime you see it. This may be hard when you start, but it will get easier after a couple of days. The only one who can really figure out what technique is the best for you, is you. Try to stick to a technique for some weeks, and combine techniques. The easiest to begin with is WBTB, try to combine it with a rather easy technique like SSILD or MILD (Prospective memory is quite essential for this one).
The best thing you could ever do is to not give up because you don't get a LD in the first weeks or so. Keep trying and they will come more frequently.

I would suggest starting of with MILD. This technique doesn't require doing stuff during the day, it's optional. You use intention, suggestion and visualization before sleep to get LD's during the night. Don't forget to Dream Journal, everybody needs dream recall :)

I would recommend ssild. It's reliable and dosent take a lot of work.

goldy, if you are too forgetful to remember on your own, try setting a timer on something to go off every hour or so, to remind you to RC. A watch perhaps, your phone, whatever. After a while it should form into a habit.

The biggest piece of advice I can give for trying to master the art of lucid dreaming is patience :) Every mind is different and everyone will modify techbiques slightly to fit them best. With time and practice you will find out what works best for you and what doesnt. Take it one step at a time as well. Really develop dream recall first, keep a dream journal. Then pick a technique and really work on it for a month or more if you have to. Even a failed LD attempt trains the brain. Essentially you are hardwiring your brain in a completely different way then what its been doing up until this point in your life. Stay positive, listen to everyones great advice and you will find your way!
