To all the meditaters out there

Iv been meditating twice a day for 10 mins for the past 5 days now and was wondering how long till i start having more lucid dreams? I know its dofferent for everyone.....i meditate 2 times where i focus on my breathing 2 times a day doing mantra meditation and once on the night doing full body meditation.
So far my dreams are more vivid and im remembering them alot more whoch iv heard is due to meditation and iv been having strange things in my dreams happen but no lucidity so far....i think once iv been doing it maybe a month i will hopefully start feeling changes in myself and lucidity.....maybe iv answered my own question which i do alot on here lol but i do like to read anyone elses input wether its opinions or personal experiences =)

Sometimes it doesn't matter how long you meditate but how intense it is. I meditate every day and I don't think meditation is that effective for LD. It helps, that's for sure but I think spending more time on visualizations and RCs is much better. Meditation is however good for practically everything in your life so of course that it does affect LD a bit as well :D. Of course it also depends on what exactly does meditation mean to you and how do you meditate.

Just the right type of response i need! I love the idea of visualization...do u do this at night and visualize where u want to be in a lucid dream? Thx for the reply and i mainy focus on the breath and clear my mind but i like to do body scanning meditation too.

Yea I think the best tome for visualization is right before falling asleep. Imagining LD, some dream signs etc. It's important not only to visualize the place you want to be but also some kind of alert that you ARE DREAMING!

Personally I think the best way to use meditation to aid lucidity is to try to maintain awareness and mindfulness throughout your daily life.

It's great that you are doing concentration meditation on the breath and on mantra. It will naturally carry over to other aspects of your life if you keep up the practice, but you can speed up the progress by also actively maintaining awareness even when you are doing your daily routine.

This will be really helpful once you've made it a habit because when you are dreaming, you will find yourself doing the same practice which will often lead to realizing you are in a dream.

Take a look at a book called "The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep" if you have the time to do some reading. I found it really insightful to see how Tibetan Buddhists incorporate lucid dreaming into their meditation practices.

Great response, and I find this completely in line with what I experience. In many lucids, I simply find myself ramping up awareness and continuing with awareness as I do in waking life.The lucidity just kicks in naturally. I'd say your approach to concentration meditations would work very well, but I'd also check out Sageous's posts on Reverse Reality Checks in his WILD class to develop that self-awareness to go hand-in-hand.
I find the Tibetan approach of combining the awareness with 'Illusory Form' practice really interesting. What they're trying to do is essentially approach the daily reality as though it is a dream. In this way, they explain that they are meshing waking consciousness with the dream state during waking hours so lucidity arises even more easily.
