Help with Gravity RC while on computer

Hey guys I've been practicing Hukif's GRC and I have some difficulty maintaining it especially when I'm on the computer, phone, or reading books of sorts.

Basically any activity that is physically not so active, but mentally so.

It's easy when I'm physically moving, because the gravity and the focus of weight shifts constantly. And if you are physically or mentally inactive, like meditation or on bed, you can easily redirect your mind's focus. However, when you don't move very much and are on the computer, phone, or books, it's harder to discern it, and it's much easier to get distracted.


I think this also applies not only to GRC but also mindfulness/ADA practices too.


Did anyone overcome similar difficulties?

I spend long days in my office, much of the time sitting at a computer as I am right this very moment and gravity awareness is a big part of my ADA program. I have found that the time spent learning to experience gravity while being very still is well invested. Here is the exercise that helps me with this....I often do this standing as well:

I imaging that I am in a beam that runs from the center of the earth to a geostationary satellite above me. I call this my "planetary beam". I make myself a part of that beam and I imagine that all there is holding me is the beam. Then I let gravity draw me down toward the earth's core through the beam, really feeling it while staying completely still. After a bit I let myself rise up through the beam toward the satellite....still feeling the pull of gravity but kind of stretching it out.

I have recently started doing this technique during the body awareness stage of my SSILD cycles and it has proven to be extremely effective.

That is very interesting approach to it. Do you focus more predominantly on the visualization aspect of it or the pulling sensation? And do you maintain the visualization the entire time?

I focus on the physical sensation. The visualization is there but I do not concentrate on it. An interesting sidebar to this.....I always end my morning exercise routine with a 4 or 5 minute headstand. After the headstand I stand in place and use that "planetary beam" visualization. That is when it is at its strongest with regard to the ability to kind of play with gravity.

What I did to simplify Gravity RC for myself was I started focusing on one particular body part. How did I know which to choose? Simple, I focused on what I utilized most throughout the day. For me it was my hands and after I started doing that everything was great. If you sit a lot you could focus on your bottom in the chair, if you walk a lot you can focus on your legs, etc. The beauty behind focusing on one part is even in dreams you will still become lucid from gravity period because you've trained your mind. It's all about maintaining general awareness which is the overall concept but we're just utilizing a natural element to our advantage.

Hukif is a bit different because his focus changes with every activity he does. That initially didn't work for me so I had to make adjustments and I found my niche. I would encourage you to do the same, remember the goal here is to keep it simple but at the same time it's powerful and effective.
