No, it's twice as good. [/lamepun]
Huh?
You are one of the lucky few who are immune to puns. Sir, I am envious. Seriously.
(Hint: Read the thread title, then my first post.)
*finally gets it* OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hehe... yeah ... with the 6 and 12 yeah.... so anyway is that good?
From what iv read b12 stimulates your memory, maby it can help with recall but i doubt getting lucid. b6 is what stimulates your brain if you take during sleep, that i bet helps you get lucid, im personally buying b6 soon. Im planning on just takeing like 50mg nightly to help with recall. But on weekends up my dose to like 200-300mg. Im trying to stay away from melotin, sense i dont exactly like eating chemicals. So im planning on wakeing up during sleep and taking the b6. For weekends i would do WBTB for a hour..sleep for about 10minutes then wake take my b6 and go back to sleep.
I have 300mg B6 pills, and they work wonders :) They make my dreams more vivid and I remember A LOT more of them. You should totally try it. But take it in the morning or during the day. It will most likely keep you awake if taken during/before the night.
Then again, B6 doesn't have any effect on some people... So it's kind of risky. But a part of it is placebo anyway so why not :D
do you take 300mg per day? Isnt that dangerous? If i cant sleep after taking it i might buy melation. I figure sense im harming my body buy taking b6 i might as well get the full effects lol.
Personally I don’t like to take vitamins and or chemicals. You could call me old-fashioned, hell, I’m only sixteen. I believe in hard work.
Some of my friends take vitamins to enhance their dreams, they can recall about two a day, three on weekends if their lucky. My recall is about five to six a night; this is without vitamins or chemicals. Try some type of mental stimulant, be creative, think of a riddle before going to bed.
It all contributes in the end.

300mg a day isn't reeeaaally unhealthy, I remember that doses exceeding 2g are starting to be dangerous, but who knows... I wouldn't take 300mg daily, just every now and then... If I recall correctly, nesgirl said she takes 300mg B6 every morning... And shes still alive...
What is the health risk of too much vitamin B6?Quote:

Too much vitamin B6 can result in nerve damage to the arms and legs. This neuropathy is usually related to high intake of vitamin B6 from supplements, [28] and is reversible when supplementation is stopped. According to the Institute of Medicine, "Several reports show sensory neuropathy at doses lower than 500 mg per day" [12]. As previously mentioned, the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine has established an upper tolerable intake level (UL) for vitamin B6 of 100 mg per day for all adults [12]. "As intake increases above the UL, the risk of adverse effects increases [12]."

B6 can really mess up your nervous system. Over a long period of time it can cause irreversible or at the very least intensive damage that would needa lot of therapy to fix.
I did a lot of internet searching on it and found that it is pretty safe to take up to 100mg a day. You can probably take more, but 100mg is more than enough and the chances of something bad happening are very, very low.
I never got much of a result with b6.....However, with B12, my recall and other memory needs skyrocketed. I would say that b12 helps just as much if not more (in my case way more) than regular b6. You might just consider taking a B complex vitamin to be safe and sure that you are taking the right thing and getting results.
okok I found a "FAB Iron + Vitamin B Complex" its ingredients are :

even w/ 4tablets your proabably just hurting urself w/ the eccess of everything else. I have complex w/ 50mg :-) I take two a night, 3on weekends.
My suggestion is to take a B complex pill after a few hours of sleep. All the B vitamins are involved in mental processes, so emphasizing just one may not be the best way to go.
Totaly agree, i normally dont get good recall if any on weekdays, i went to bed at normal time woke up after 5:20 hours and had 2 dreams in the next 2hours.
but is that complex pill i said on my last reply good? with the IRON and B complex?? and is it fine to have it at my age? and how often should i have it? you guys are experts, help me out here!
Ur complex only has 2mg of B6 i think you said. I have complex-50 (what its called) it was like 20$. it has 50mg of b6 in each pill, i take two of thoughs after waking up and it helps. But, lastnight i didnt take and i remembered like 4dreams (first time more then 1) So im not sure, i might go w/o it for a few days then try w/ it.
One thing I have noticed is that B6 helps when you start taking it and when you stop taking it. That's why I take it like 2-3 random times a week.
Facts:
Warning, 300 mg per day for extended periods (several months in the published literature) has been clinically demostrated to cause neurological damage that persists after B6 useage has stopped and may be permanent.
As stated many times on this forum 2000 mg causes neurological damage in a single dose.
(the FDAs recommended maximum of 100 mg/day is there for a reason. While the FDA has been wrong many many... Many times  its best to heed their advise until sufficient scientific evidence disproves their stance. One small clinical study found 250mg to be measurably superior to 100mg in inducing vivid dreams, but one should not do this daily)
Educated hypothesis:
In that the normal B6 pills contain pyridoxine (the biochemical precursor of active B6) instead of pyridoxal (B6) trying to take them while sleeping may be wasted effort because the liver must convert pyridoxine into pyridoxal before it can enter into the process of neurotransmitter biosynthesis, and this conversion is not instantaneous. This would explain why many people who take pyridoxine hydrochloride in the mornings or durring the day are frequently sucessful.
Ah, just the thread I've been looking for.
Just bought a poly-vitamin complex at the pharmacy. Consists of B6, B12 and one other B vitamin...B1 I think or maybe B2.
At any rate, it has 200 mg of B6 in each, 100 mg of B12 and not too much of the third.
Going to start taking them before sleep every now and then. Think it would be safe to take it as Fry does.
How long've you been taking it at such a rate?
What do you think works better:
- Taking B6 before sleep.
- Waking up 6 hours after going to sleep, taking it, and then going back to sleep.
I take 200mg of B6 (one capsule); I guess it depends where you find the information but that has been noted as a safe daily amount. If my brains and nervous system turns into jelly I'll keep you guys posted if I can type still.
By the way 200mg B6 usually produces a lucid 1 out of 3 nights; for me it's apparently working but to each it's own.
Taking stimulants at bedtime keeps me awake. What I do is set my alarm clock so I get a few hours of sleep, then take whatever I'm going to take. Nowadays I don't take anything except melatonin, because I'm staying focused on the audio files and don't want to complicate matters. 200 mg B6 sounds like too much, but I suppose the threshold varies from person to person. I would suggest a B complex may be more effective...
