Sleep stage?
Yesterday night, as I was trying to WILD, I noticed something strange happening to me:
I was lying there, counting, focusing my mind and trying to relax when all of a sudden my body relaxed all by itself; my breathing intensified and quickened, and I was quite conscious of this.
Could anyone tell me whether this marks a certain sleep stage (and if so, which one it is...)? (Itll be useful when keeping track of progress during WILD).

thats where your going wrong. If your able to keep progress then you wont WILD. The process is finished when your in the dream.

Aw, shucks. Should I just let go at that point?

ranaenelcomal, I've yet to have a WILD but I have had that experience too while trying. In my case, I thought since my breathing got faster that I had failed WILD so I just rolled over. But, I think if you keep still eventually you'll start seeing HI and should be able to enter the dream shortly after.
