2 night ago I decided to try WILDing using the counting and breathing technique. I woke up at 4am, stayed awake until 4:15, and then went into the technique. I would say the number is my head on the breath in, and say "I am dreaming" on the breath out. I laid on my back, hand and legs isolated. Around 70 count, I had some HI with alot of swirling colors. When I got to about 105, I suddenly felt all tingly and I felt like I was floating. It felt so weird and hit me very quickly. I knew I was transitioning into the dream world. My concentration on my counting and breathing multiplied. When I hit 147, I opened my eyes because I was feeling a little too weird. It's hard to explain the feeling but I felt like I was being pulled in two different directions at once. What is the next stage of WILDing that comes after the tingling and floating? I might have been too excited to get into the next phase. When I start floating should I do something different than counting and breathing?

WILDing varies so much for each person, its hard to give effective advise. Whenever you get to the transition phase, you either enter a dream or you don't, it can be that simple. It sounds like you did a good job, but no matter how weird it feels, you shouldn't open your eyes. It will instantly stop you from entering a dream. If you are in the transition phase for a while (I can't say time wise because time can cease to exist in this phase), then you can open your eyes because that means that you probably won't enter a dream. I think you should get used to that weird feeling, this was only you first WILD, so everything was probably strange to you. Good job though. :)

you are doing well. the tingly/floaty/buzzing feeling (which feels a little different to most people) is a sure sign that you were on the verge of sleep paralysis, and thus the dream state.
you need to become familiar with this sensation, so that it is no longer disconcerting or overly distracting.
NEVER OPEN YOUR EYES DURING A WILD ATTEMPT unless you have already entered a dream and are moving about within it.

i played around with the feeling you describe for quite some time until i actually started having full-blown WILDs. the key is PASSIVE AWARENESS. by that i mean maintaining awareness without trying to force anything, or manipulate HI or bodily sensations too much.
if you wait long enough in SP, your dream-body-image should disengage itself automatically (like a cork popping to the surface of water, or a helium baloon floating away). you started to feel this process, but did not give it enough time (i know it's hard to be patient at this point  )
next time continue to wait, and you should either "pop out", or find that the HI has morphed into a fullblown dream scene with you in it.
happy dreaming!
and remember...that strange feeling is your best friend whilst attempting WILDs. no matter how bizarre it may feel, it can NEVER hurt you. it is what makes WILDs possible.

wilds are all different for everyone. For me i dont even get sp when i wild. But there is one thing that is certain for most everyone, and that is as wombing said passive awareness. that is the key. you almost have to try and ignore the fact that you are trying to wild and just think of somthing else. for me anyway.
good luck! :)
