Which is most effective in attaining lucid dreams?
I'm guessing going to bed exhausted would be best, since this would mean you would sleep longer and your REM cycles would end up having more time to get increasingly longer. Since you would sleep more deeply, I'm guessing you would also have less of a chance of waking up in the middle of a lucid dream.
Although this is just a blind guess, anyone know for sure?

I think if I, personally, was going to do the WBTB method that night, I would be exhausted before going to bed, so 5 hours later, when my REM cycle starts, I can wake up and write in my journal, then easily go back to sleep to get a lucid dream.

When I go to bed exausted, I often sleep right through the night, fail to remember most of my dreams, and fail to remember to do MILD. So I like to go to bed around 12ish. When I go to bed not very tired and wake up in the middle of the night I usually remember 1-2 more dreams than if I didn't, so like 5-6. I have never had a lucid on a weekend because I always end up staying up practicly all night. But I'm guessing this is different for everyone.

I'd say going to bed exhausted as well because it would be easier to get to sleep so you could do techniques easier like MILD ect. Also if you get more sleep you will haver a higher chance of getting lucid and having more vivid dreams.
