Last night I tried MILD for the first time as I've not really been able to visualise dreamscenes with WILD.
My alarm went off at 2:30am and had nothing to write down so I went back to sleep.
At 4am I also had nothing to write down but stayed up for 30 minutes to attempt WILD again. I must have fell asleep but when my alarm went off at 6am, I was awoken from the middle/end of a dream. I noted down a few keywords (which I've managed to translate into a proper log for once) and headed straight back to where I was. I did imagine becoming lucid a few times and what I would do. When I fell asleep, I was in a different dream... well actually it could very well have been the same dream but with a small time lapse and change in scenery.
I was still being chased (the end of my first dream was about to end up in a chase), but along a futuristic looking highway type scene. As I headed into a fire escape and started running down the stairwell in the structure, I randomly did a reality check. I started poking my index finger into my palm... nothing. I reached up and pinched my nose. I could still breathe! It was such a strange experience. For the first time ever I became lucid! :boogie: I stopped running and headed back up the stairwell to face the two people chasing me. They just stared back and as I closed my eyes to try and change the scene, I woke up (for real).
I must have been lucid for all of 4 seconds but a success nonetheless! A big step forward for me anyway! :D
I did try again with the same method but after dreaming about waking up at work after an afternoon nap, and having trouble getting back to sleep, I didn't realise I was dreaming and felt I had been sidetracked in my thoughts.
