if you RC in real life it's pointless b/c when you're awake, you know you're awake
if u know ur dreaming you don't need to RC
if u RC but aren't already lucid, then what are the chances you will become lucid because of it? wouldn't your dream self treat it as though it's normal?
1. I never know for sure i am awake, because i have had so many dreams where i felt like i knew i wasn't dreaming and found out i was so now i am never really sure whic helps my reality checks.
2. It's good to confirm your dreaming before you go about your business.
3. It depends on how serious you take the reality checks in real life. If you never take them seriously then it will pass over to your dreams.
Hi, I agree with U but U still need to RC to get the idea and feel of RCing so that it will be easier to intent before U sleep. I only do a day or 2 with nothing but RCing and then I stop only doing them sometimes to remind myself to RC when I dream. Then the real 'magic' of RCing is when U sleep...keep doing Ur RC (A convinient one) until U fall asleep. It does work and gave me 2 lucids so far.Quote:

Read Billy Bob's tutorial called "How to Lucid Dream" it covers Reality Checking awesomely. He says that you're not supposed to reality check as a habit, or just cause you haven't recently, but do a thorough one (like described above) whenever you see something out of the ordinary.
That`s why my RCs are mental tasks, they activate my logic which always gives me an immediate LD in a dream (when you get that "Hey, this isn`t possible" feeling).
1. Wrong. It's not pointless because in dreams, you think you're awake.
2. If you know you're dreaming, chances are you've already performed an RC, so you wouldn't need to do one, no.
3. Yes, that is a possible outcome, but usually after the RC you're lucid.
Basically, most of the time you will become lucid after doing an RC.
