No. You are RCing wrong.
You can NEVER let "Oh, this is obviously reality," enter your reality checks. The answers should NEVER be a habit. It isn't about getting a yes or no... when you reality check, you're supposed to be AWARE. You don't plug your nose and just go "I'm awake." And in fact, doing an RC like that isn't even necessary. While plugging your nose, be consciously aware of your surroundings, in fact just analyzing your environment is a reality check in itself. You are bound to notice things that will tell you you're dreaming in a dream and RC.
Read Billy Bob's tutorial called "How to Lucid Dream" it covers Reality Checking awesomely. He says that you're not supposed to reality check as a habit, or just cause you haven't recently, but do a thorough one (like described above) whenever you see something out of the ordinary.
