I'm starting a kind of relationship with mine as well.
He and I are WBTB right now and doing RC's. And we will have a very STRONG, VIVID and LONG LD in a few moments.
I named mine gameover :-)
One of the few things I could think of that isn't said at all in dutch language really.
so if I blurt out gameover and I are going to bed, don't mind me and let the crazy dutch fool walk around in circles
this techinque worked 100% i even used it to stop my self from smoking
and now 3 weeks and i dont  i just repeated my self before going to bed ..the name of my subconcious and told him affirmmly that i really want to stop and if i dont ill be pissed at him
work with lucid dreams i told it that if i dont have any or if it doesnt help me have lucid dream ill be angry at it
first i got awaked after my mind wandering off when im going to sleep while wild it was it that i had sudden realazation i shouldnt fall asleep but go through my wild
and through my dreams ive been bombarded by marks with are you dreaming or is this real? by dream chracters but it is i who dont realize im still training my self
im also using it for other personal things too..its very helpful...as it may sound silly at first but really it isnt
try it when your going to bed or when your very near to lose concious as those are the times the subconcious mind is very attentive....it wont work if ur were walking in a park and suddnly named it zack ..u must be in trance and really want it
and as he said be careful with the naming use a hard to use name...i used a number as a designation
Reminds me of Gollum actually.. but an interesting technique!Quote:

Crazy, loony, mentally challenged people do this.
This is a very cool idea, I had my first LD doing this ("talking" with my subconcious, like when you talk with a friend) but actually I didn't think to give it a name, nice :)
thats the most interesting idea i have evr heard about lding. Sounds more like brainwashing but i guess its a form of lding for sure like watching a video tape over and over again and focusing there for the whole week and then falling asleep watching it the way it was, and maybe something more dramastic like 'you' being in the film...with jlo or rachel wesz :)
Hearing the name of the film in real life would certainly instantly make you think how much it bored you out, and then if you could have realised the difference of your subconscious, you would have rememberd what you did in the movie..
I wonder if that technique could work to get you to tell your conscious that your subconscious are 'one'
this sounds really neat, im going to try some of this stuff :o
This sounds like a really cool technique. I don't mind that it's a little odd. I'm a little odd. I named my subconscious Alanna. She and I are going to work on increasing our lucidity, flying, and making the plots of my dreams more interesting. My only question is how to think of my subconcsious. Is she like the person I am in my dream? Should I say we will lucid dream or Alanna will lucid dream? Normally this is what I use for a MILD: I am going to dream. I am in a dream. I am aware of my dream. Should I change that to say Alanna is going to dream. She's in a dream. She's aware of her dream? Or Alanna and I are going to dream. We're in a dream. We're aware of our dream. ? What do you think?
I think it'd be best to think of Alanna as a guiding spirit in your dreams. A dream guide. Your character in your dreams is you, the representation of Self in the dream. If you need help, she's your friend. It's up to you to accomplish anything you've ever wanted.Quote:

.. lol, I don't really know. Good luck though!
I find I think of my subconscious as sort of working things behind the scenes helping me out doing things and creating situations that will make it easier for me to notice I am dreaming and induce a lucid dream. But basiclay you should let it manifest how you feel it should and help you how you belive it would. good luck!Quote:

Hey this is cool... I'm half insane already... but yeah I can see how this will make the autosuggestion so much more powerful, and I can't wait to try this! I just looked on one of those names sites and found a name that I like, and liked the meaning of too, I think that will make it even stronger. It does sound a little crazy, but what the hell, who wants to be normal?
lol, not me.Quote:

Hey everyone,
This is actually my first post on this forum. I was just browsing the tutorials, but was so impressed by this idea of naming the subconscious and talking to it (real nice work Turkeh) that I decided to join. :D
I'm going to try the technique tonight. I've already given my subconscious a unique name, so we'll see what happens. A very intriguing idea!
Maybe I will call mine " Subby" Hey Subby, get me lucid tonight!!!
Maybe I will give him a surname: Subby Wastralopitheckosmemorabilis
Wow. I should copyright this.. Subby sounds very nice, though Wastralopitheckosmemorabilis is cool too.
Float to the top.
This is a very cool idea, I actually did this before every reading about it and didn't realise that it was so popular.
It actually started for me quite by accident... Rather than choosing a name for my subconcious, my subconcious chose her own name during a dream, so her name pretty much instantly fixed within my mind without me even having to do anything and I began to use it all the time from then on. :)
Makes scence. Will try 8)
Hmm... this is an interesting idea. I'll try remembering to do it if I somehow wake up tonight.
well I can't decide. wich name?
Aldius or Chaith
The name is fairly unimportant since its basiclay a mnemonic for your subconciousQuote:

Sounds interesting. Hopefully Oval10'll listen better than "I" do.
 "Subconcious, your name is Oval10 from now on. :)"
This is an absolutely LOONEY technique, ideally suited to weird psychotic people with schizophrenic tendencies. What could be dynamite is to combine it with an audio file played during sleep. (see the thread: FREE DOWNLOADS: LD Audio Files During Sleep).
Suppose you call the subconscious "Matrix", some commands would be: "Matrix, make me conscious in the dream!" or "Matrix, help me recognize I'm dreaming!" or "Matrix, help me realize I'm dreaming!"
I think what Turkeh is proposing is that "I" or "me" are too broad. Which would seemingly be more effective. But not in the scenario Turkeh paints.
This narrows the playing field for the subconscious to muddle through.
I use a similar technique as to have a "place" and name in my head for my memory. I can directly relate things to IT. not just say I (which is all of me ) will remember this.
And loony? To you maybe so. But it is a narrow mind to consider it coined as such for all of us.
Joke, Howetzer, Joke. We are all LOONEY in this Forum, even me. I think its probably a good idea for the reason that calling somebody by name stimulates their attention. The idea of calling the subconscious a name will focus attention on it. This type of thing is typically used in post-hypnotic suggestions, where the hypnotist gives the command that "your subconscious mind will.... etc".
Frankly, I'm not sure if the subconscious mind even exists. The illusion most people have is that they are conscious. The bottom line is that we are trying to reprogram the brain to produce LDs, which means that neural circuits must be reprogrammed. Calling it "subconscious mind" or a "coordinated cluster of Purkinje cells" may be the same thing. It probably doesn't really matter. The important thing is to focus attention on the task of reprogramming "it", whatever "it" may be, and if calling "it" by a name focuses attention on "it" so much the better. Ha !!! Now you've got me going off the deep end. Looney tunes, indeed. Whatever works...
