Difficulty with dreaming, let alone lucid dreaming - please help

Before anyone tells me to stop being lazy and have a good look at the forums, let me say that I have looked all over the site and I haven't read and can't find anything that helps me. I'd like someone with experience and/or knowledge to personally help me out; not specifically adoption, though.

Basically, I have been having almost no dreams I can recall for months. They are hazy, short, and usually entirely forgotten by the time I wake up. The little lucidity I had previously is now almost non-existant. I love dreaming, and I miss the almost nightly dreams I used to have, even if they weren't lucid.

To make it easier for anyone trying to help me: I have been quite stressed for a few months, though usually I am not when going to bed. I think this is probably what's wrong. Also, I take Fluoxetine, 30mg daily; I'm not sure whether or not this affects things. I slee 8-10 hours per night, usually, going to bed at 11 or midnight and waking 8-10am. I eat relatively healthily; my diet has a lot of vitamins and minerals in it. I also exercise every day. Edit: I aso suffer from chronic fatigue and severe depression; I thought that might be more helpful to know than what I eat, lol.

I don't know if any of this information will help, and I'm sorry if it's not. Anyway, thanks!

some things to try:

1.meditate. Nothing too hard- just sit still with crossed legs (lotus pose if possible) before sleep for 5-10 minutes and try to clear your mind of all thoughts while concentrating on your breathing. Don't force yourself not to think- the aim is to relax.

2.lye still after regaining consciousness after waking up for 30 seconds or so while trying to recall your dreams


3. I also find tea just before sleep and during the night helps.

It seems pretty obvious, but try to de-stress. Meditation maybe?

If you haven't already, try setting an alarm so that it wakes you up in the middle of REM sleep (about every 90 minutes after going to sleep). You also might want to try the first part of MILD to help you recall dreams. While you're going to sleep, focus on remembering to wake up after you dream and to recall your dream.

Also, try the "subliminal recall" audio, available for free in the lucid aids section of the forum. It really helped me.

You do have a Dream Journal, right? It helps to improve your recall dramatically. You might not have started one because you don't think your recall is good enough, but writing down any little fragment will help improve recall. Even if all you get is those short, hazy, 5 second recollections, write them down. I have an entry in my DJ that just says "Floating musical notes."

If you do have one, I suggest subliminal recall, and Ryuifinity stated...

Also, as soon as you wake up, DON'T MOVE. If you do move, before you think about it, get back into the position you woke up in. Then just lay there for a minute or two and try to remember all the details you can. You will be able to remember dreams much easier this way.

For the stress, I reccomend relaxation techniques, such as Stephen LaBerge's progressive relaxation technique. For the recall, well, all the above, actually. I KNOW that all those things they suggested work, although I'm not sure about subliminal recall.
Oh, I forgot. When it comes to lucid dreaming, perseverance, practice, motivation, and optimism are the keys. Don't feel down because they have'nt been working. They all work eventually. And once you start having them, you REALLY start having them!! Hope this helped.
