False Memory Induced Lucid Dreams?

Have you ever noticed that sometimes in your dreams you remember stuff that never happened in your dreams. Like you remember that your mom was some woman that you never met before...

This is a false memory, I get them frequently when I dream, it actually makes the dream feel real and tricks you into thinking it's reality.

My theory is that we can take advantage of this by doing a reality check whenever we think of something we've done.

Lets say your going through your day, you see a picture of your mom in your house and think of a good memory. Now stop and realize that this could be a false memory created by your brain to trick you into staying unconscious. Do a reality check every time you have any memories of anything.

Of course this might only work if you have lots of false memories in your dreams like I do.

If some people already know about this or it's been thought of already, sorry for wasting your time, but if it hasn't, I'd like to know your thoughts on this.
