Hmm... I can't really say - I mean, I don't know much about LDing yet, but also who's to say what is typical for Lucid Dreams?
Though, the last instance of lucidity I had was like this - I actually can't remember how the first part happened (I actually didn't write this in my dream journal, I don't know what the fuck I was thinking >_<)
Ok, getting to the point: It was like this. I became lucid, then my vision went black, and it felt like I was waking up but I knew better. I 'woke' in my bed, knew I was dreaming and then looked at my hand and confirmed it.
But then I woke up. Is this what you're talking about?
Hmm... sounds to me like you still are having a strong connection with your actual body. I would suggest trying some stabilization techniques, such as rubbing your hands together, dream spinning, or doing some RCs. If you are able, try and engage in some dream activities as quickly as possible upon entering your LD. Also, refrain from thinking about your actual body, this can cause your dream to become unstable.
If you are referring to a WILD attempt, then I think you haven't fully transitioned yet. You should just stay calm and wait for the transition to complete. Try imagining your dream scene more bright and vibrant. Focus on it and imagine yourself in that scene. That should do the trick!
The false awakenings are very common. To conquer them I suggest doing RCs every time you wake. Some people have false awakenings nearly every time they become lucid. If this is the case you must simply practice conquering them. Good Luck to you!
i had this problem to, still getting it under control. It just takes time, and you will get the hang of it.. eventually.
Becoming lucid is making you wake up or dream that your are waking up (false awakening). Try getting used to do a reality check everytime you wake up so you can take advantage of those false awakenings and cut the pattern.
Hey thanks for the help everyone
