And I have no idea what is causing it. I really want to DEILD, but last night I stayed still and all but nothing came. ;-; It's not as if I'm lacking the discipline to stay still and keep my eyes closed, but it's just not working for some reason.

Second time? You are not even started yet! ;)
Give it more time, and good luck! :)
Like Specialis said, keep practicing. 2 times is nothing to worry about :P. I personally have never had much success DEILD after normal dreams, is this when you are trying? During LDs you can feel yourself waking up before you actually wake up. This gives you time to prepare and set up a smooth transition back into the dream state. DEILDing after a normal dream can be much more difficult. You really want to try and realize you are waking before you fully wake up. Even if you keep your eyes closed and lay still, it can be much easier to fail if you have fully woken up and then started the DEILD process. If you are using an alarm/outside trigger to wake yourself for the DEILD, try and use one that will slowly and gradually wake you up. Good Luck to you!
I had my first DEILD today, but It was mostly luck. I was very tired, if that helps.
Interestingly, my dad taught himself to DEILD when he was a kid, without ever hearing about lucid dreaming. He became very good at it and probably was having several LDs a week during his childhood. Is that natural LDing? Or something else?
Yeah, for some reason I felt I had moved even though I don't remember moving. Perhaps DEILDing after a LD would work (I tried once before but it didn't go through), because I know I'm about to wake. Thanks for the tips; I'll keep trying.
Have you tried any tactile imagery during deild? I couldn't deild without it probably, and once I got into doing it I was able to perform deild very fast. What I mean by tactile is imagining movement, like imagine rolling on your stomach or back imagine the differences in gravity and keep doing this until you feel dislocated from your physical body. It works by stimulating a dream to take place through one of the easiest senses to imagine.
Also just keep trying to catch that time right after you wake up, what will happen is you'll realize it sooner and sooner so you'll be more closer to sleep each time.
Hmm, I haven't tried that. I will tonight, thanks. ^^
I relaxed within the LD where I decided to try DEILDing. It would've probably worked, but I wasn't doing something right... Too bad I can't remember what. =C
Whenever I begin to feel/notice myself waking up, I start the DEILD process before I even exit the dream. I keep my eyes closed and stand/sit still. I don't necessarily lay down within the dream, but I halt my movements and close my eyes/dream eyes. I've only failed DEILD a couple of times, and I'm not sure why I failed those two times.
PS: Be sure to check for FAs, they are pretty common during DEILD attempts.
Good call, LDG. I second the tactile imagery suggestion. That is the main way I WILD or DEILD, too.
And another thing, it isn't necessary to stay still to DEILD, you can move, just keep it minimal. Probably not moving makes you unconfortable and unable to, who knows.
