Stephen LaBerge's trance induction CD track

I just wanted to share my experience with this CD track. If you have LaBerge's book Lucid Dreaming (I got it from amazon.com used books for about $3, incl. the CD), the track I've been using is the 6th one-- trance induction (night). I started using it 3 nights ago, listening to the track after WBTB, and had immediate results. The first night I had a vivid dream where I was in a classroom with other members of the DV forums, but I didn't go lucid. The second night I progressed to a dream where I knew I was waiting in someone else's dream, but I wasn't lucid-- I was just dreaming that I knew I was dreaming. Last night (the third night), I went lucid and had a fairly good run. I haven't had an LD in about a year, so my control was rusty, but it was still quite excellent.

I've never really tried to induce LD's before I joined this forum, and since joining, I've found that the WILD and MILD techniques don't work well for me because I have trouble falling asleep while concentrating on something specific. If anybody has this same problem, I highly recommend giving this CD a try. Although it's called "Trance Induction," I don't really feel like I'm in a trance when I listen to it, but it puts the intention of lucid dreaming in your mind and guides you through some relaxation imagery and imagery conducive to LDing. It's similar to MILD, except that you don't have to do the concentrating yourself. You just follow along with the track, and at the end of 15 minutes when it ends, you let your mind relax and slip into sleep-- no concentration on a specific idea, image, etc. required.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that. Hopefully it will help some of you who have the same problems with concentration that I do.

ill definetely look into it since ive been wanted to get a CD like this for a while. i havent tried music to induce LDs, but i have music that induce sleep which i sometimes listen too if i have difficulty falling asleep, and it works well so this could too!

If it works through trance, then it's bound to work, the subconsious is far more open to suggestion during trance. I must get round to reading his book, I really must.

I definitely recommend getting the whole CD, but if don't have the book yet and would like a copy of this track, PM me your email addresses and I'll send it to you in .wma format.

Update: I've discovered that the trance induction track is 13MB as an mp3 (of course it was even larger as .wma), which is too big to be sent as an attachment through most email providers. I'm currently trying to figure out how to compress it below 10MB so that I can send it to those who want a copy. If anyone has a suggestions about how to compress an mp3, they would be most welcome. :)

It's a big file-- over 13MB-- since the track is over 15 minutes long, so if you have dial-up, be prepared to wait around a bit. ive used the track two nights in a row, and both times it's brought me into a very deep trance state. i have really enjoyed it, hopefully with further use it will induce a lucid dream. thanks again peregrinus :)

The track is of a man talking the listener through some relaxation and image techniques. If you're looking for background music or something similar for your tapes, I doubt this would work. Having two people talking at the same time would be pretty confusing.

Ah okay, I talk the people into trance on my own, so I guess it wouldn't help.

So wait, its not a song, but instead its a guy talking?

Being talked into it is the best way to induce trance in my opinion because music is all good and well, but it can didtract you're mind.

No he does not. The point is to fall asleep while the track is playing. He then simply says tonight be lucid and aware, now fall asleep.

Bascially he doesn't bring you out, he lets you drift off to sleep.

...then you wake up later, hopefully with a lucid dream remembered.

hey Peregrinus, i have the cd as well. i was wondering about the technicalities of you using the cd because you said that you did WBTBs but then referred to the results as them happening at night. so you actually went to sleep during the day, woke up at night and then did WBTB or was that a typo where you actually meant you did it in the morning?

I'd go to bed (usually around midnight or 1:00 am), sleep for 5 hours, wake up, write down any remembered dreams, go the bathroom, and put on that track. Then I'd then drift off to sleep and wake up again around 8:00am. I consider anything before the sun rises to be nighttime, so when I say that I use it at night, 5:30am is "at night".

I clicked to download to CD but it downloaded it to my desk top instead.
One of the tranformers down the road is not working properly and I somtimes can only log on at less than 40,000 BPS.
UUUUHHG :( It took an hour and three minutes to download.

Lol. :lol: That like what happened to me the second night I listened to the track. I was in the parlor of an old mansion that was dusty and being remodeled (felt like the 1800's at first) and I knew that I was waiting inside another person's dream. I was in the body of the person who was dreaming, sort of like a place-holder, but with my own thoughts and memories superimposed upon his. I knew this and I walked around and thought how odd and cool it was to be inside of someone else's dream. The dreamer/DC's daughter walked in the front door dressed in a 19th century white, full-length dress and then went up the stairs and he/I went protectively over to the base of the stairs to watch her go up. Then we went back into the parlor and I looked into an oval wall-mounted mirror to get a good look at the person whose body I was in (he was wearing a sweet ankle-length, polished brown leather coat among other things). Suddenly, SWAT team commandoes came bursting though the door leading to the back of the house and it no longer felt like the 1800's (well, obviously). I knew they were after a drug dealer who was known to use this mansion as his base of operations and that since I was in the body of the person who lived in this house, figured they must be after me. Then I realized that I was some sort of sorcerer. I think this realization came b/c I was still somewhat aware that this was someone's dream, so the reality was malleable (or maybe super-powers are really useful in the drug dealing business...). I threw up a wall of fire to block the SWAT team, and as the fire spread overhead like a corridor, I turned and ran for the front door.

Although I've known that I was dreaming without going lucid before, this was the first time I've thought that I was in someone else's dream and in fact inside someone else. It was very cool, to say the least, if not just a tad disappointing that I missed all of those signs and remained non-lucid.

Hmm, I was thinking, if I were to play this to get me to sleep, then play an edited lucid dreaming hypnosis tape without the trance induction or the awakening, then maybe this could work a lot better. I have had sucess with sleeping through lucid dreaming hypnosis tqpes in the past. I don't know, I'm just rambling...

I was just wondering exactly how relaxed and trance-like this CD is meant to get you. Oh, and are you meant to fall asleep straight after the night-time track?

I'm going to try it this weekend, so I thought it might be worth seeing hoe this works for everyone else. :tunes:

Unlimited space and bandwidth?! I'm jealous. I maxed out my space on the university server by the end of my sophomore year. Portland probably disabled http://solarwinds.port5.com/DV/ . They were threatening to because it kept exceeding the bandwidth allowance. The trance track is 13MB, which is too large to be sent over most email services. If you have an MSN passport, I'll IM it to you when I see you online. If you're also on a university network, it should go quickly. And it'd be awesome if you'd host it using your university account.

I don't know how everyone else uses it, but I play it after a WBTB session and usually fall back to sleep within 10-15 minutes of the track ending.

There should be no download limits or anything, but if something happens i'll be sure to let you know.

Ok, thanks. I'll try it for WBTB sessions for the next few days and see if I have any success.

i tried it last night, i ALMOST fell asleep with it but i kinda chocked and had to cough so the whole "spell" was broken (as soon as i moved my arms, which till then seemed paralyzed, it all went away)...

i'll try with WBTB tonight :)

I tried it last night, during a WBTB session. I did move, but there was no way that I was going to get to sleep lying on my back anyway, no matter how relaxed I was. Nevertheless, I had an LD! It was only a 5 second one, and it wasn't actually a result of the whole 'special dreamsign' thing that the technique makes you have, but I think it was an indirect result of listening to the track. :mrgreen:

Been listening to this probably 2 nights in 3 for a few weeks now and I've noticed a couple of cool/strange things.

Until now remembering more than 1 dream was not a very frequent event, but since last week i've had a couple of mornings where I've rmembered 2 or 3, each time after listening to this track some time in the night - today I remembered 5!!

Also, I always listen to this on speakers, and so as not to disturb my girlfriend only play it when she's asleep. A couple of days ago I noticed that several times in the last fortnight, far more often than usual, she has told me about wierd dreams she had the night before.
