It's no problem, Nesgirl. :) But let's not let this turn into another one-on-one discussion thing. If you'd like to comment on this, put that in the seneseless thread too.

The out of Body people only need to prove it once, no? Well, take a look at this Page:
http://www.near-death.com/experiences/skeptic03.html
Here are a few of the highlights:
Michael Sabom, M.D, conducted an excellent study of OBE among experiencers. Dr. Sabom identified a group of thirty-two patients who had a cardiac arrest, experienced a NDE, and visualized their own resuscitation efforts during the OBE stage of their NDE. He found a group of twenty-three patients who had a cardiac arrest and did not have a NDE. Both groups were asked to describe their resuscitation. The NDE group was uniformly accurate, including correctly recalling readings on medical machines outside their potential line of vision. Twenty of the twenty-three patients who did not have a NDE were highly inaccurate in describing their resuscitation. This is verifiable and potentially reproducible validation of the OBE component of the NDE.
Dr. Charles Tart was experimenting with a subject who would have spontaneous out-of-body experiences. A remote five-digit number was placed out of view of the subject. She had an out-of-body experience and successfully read the five-digit number. The subject was then able to return to her body and successfully tell Dr. Tart what the number is. This provides strong circumstantial evidence that consciousness can transcend the physical body.
See?! They only occur during NDEs, so that proves it!! Also, it is highly possible to dream about something realistic, like in a sci-fi! :DQuote:

It's quite possible that the development of concious OBE's and other hyper-psychic abilities is and the public acknowledgement of the reality of such is a next step in human evolution.
Ugghh! You still think that my sci-fis are only dreams, right?? :shock:Quote:

Sorry to be such a grouch but could you talk about something other than your "scifis", please?
Already have a place: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic....=13063&start=45. So I'll be there! :-PQuote:

God! Read the whole quote -- Dr. Charles Tart demonstrated with a non dead person that the perceptive capabilities attributable to OBE's is possible. I guess I now understand why not everybody maxs out their SAT's -- the reading comprehension scores must be the major downfall.Quote:

[quote][quote]That sounds like something my dad told me he saw on tv one time, my belief on death was that we have an OBE that lasts forever, then we start holusinating, and eventualy lose are memory.Quote:

But I'm confused by the very term "scifis" as it is applied to Astral Projection (as it once was called), or Out of Body Experience, OBE, as it has recently been refered to as. Sci Fi sounds like the abbreviated way one refers to the Science Fiction genre of literature.Quote:

An entire conversation can be confusing when you skip 2/3s of it...
I believe in the notion that our concioussnesses exist on multiple levels within this universe perpetually.
Humanity, being on the cusp of its mental evolution (having only just become aware of their surroundings, passing on knowledge to their children, absorbing knowledge from their ancestors, and reaching realization of concioussness itself) is too now only beginning to develop these facets of their brains through art, literature, and spiritual practices.
I read awhile back that inner areas of the brain served as the prime driving force for simian bodies predating the Hominid. I also read these primal areas of the brain are rarely activated; either when the brain shuts down to lower wavelengths or when the adrenal glands pump painkillers into the brain under intense physical stress. If the dream world is largely unconcious, and how animals are thought to be largely unconcious, then it obviously must be that we are the apex of the system and now we have become concious to realize our own evolution and our own fate. Could even be possible that humanity itself is the end of the evolutionary chain entirely but we merely do not have the skill or technology yet to realize our own power. Or just not enough motivation.
It is Science Fiction. I call them that for the fact that I am flying in a robe, & have a duplicate! That is definitely Sci-fi!! Well, & my friends have them too! Sometimes we even bump into each other. If we get lost, we use our blue & pink sashes (not likely!). Well, & I think that they are only dreams, so they are sci-fis! :DQuote:
