Shared dreaming: How can I find a dreamer I've connected with?
Tonight I was pondering over one of the most vivid dreams I have ever had, one of the first and few dreams I can recall from my adolescent years, that led me to one of my first experiences with sleep paralysis hallucinations--I think I may have just realized for the first time that I was being guided by another dreamer, not a dream character, in this dream. What I can remember from the dream is that I was being led through a dim path with many other people walking around aimlessly, people I both knew/did not know/were indistinguishable from strangers and memories--I was being led by an older man, quiet and gentle in nature, who told me many things, but the only one thing I can remember, CLEAR as crystal in my memory, is that this man whispered in my ear "Dreams are the secret to life." Then I had one of my first false awakenings in which I was woken up by being choked by a little girl in a white dress. For some reason, after thinking everything over again tonight, I am now convinced that this was a dreamer that spotted me in one of my earliest ventures in dream control and somehow knew to guide me. This dream has stuck with me permanently and has changed my life in the way that I seek to live amongst my dreams as well.
So my question is... Does anyone think I could try to find this person, somehow? Also, for some reason, I haven't been able to have control in my dreams for the last 6 months, other than ONE false awakening I had in a car that only lasted for a few minutes. My lack of consciousness in my dreams is starting to really distress me. Can anyone come find me and help me come back to the dream world? Or offer any advice as to how to make it back? I'd like to say I was an avid lucid dreamer for about a year, did not ever practice using reality checks or dream logging, but now this beautiful skill has left me and can no longer realize I am dreaming. What happened? Why can't I reach the other side any more?
