Astra projecting. Mastered, and open to all. What would you do with the gift/ability ?

When I was seven years of age, I would look into the nursery section at school, and notice the games the infants would play.
None of the games, or toys they played with were of any interest to me. I wanted to be a teenager.
Then as a teenager, I observed the younger kids playing what looked like silly games. All below my level of maturity.
As an older teen, I would notice my interests had advanced again.
This continually happens throughout everyones lifetime. It is the voracious spirit that dwells in us all. ( Not said as a religulous statement )
We all progress to the next level. Not much point staying where you are.

This has also been my view, that the knowledge that comes during astral projection my be incidental to the 'astral projection' experience, which may be little more than a story that a person tells themselves while something deeper is going on.

In Patanjali's yoga sutras, in the third section, a person is supposedly able to attain definite knowledge through intuition like that. I've encountered this idea in Theosophical tracts also, though I think there it traces to some degree back to Patanjali. As I recall the Chinese Buddhist writing, Secret of Golden Flower, is also like that, though the knowledge sought is more narrowly about the Self.

In practice, in my observation, the knowledge that people get through contemplation is strongly circumscribed by what other people already believe or know. In other words, I think they're getting it psychically from other people, and not by virtue of access to a realm of true knowledge. Where other people are mostly wrong, the psychically gained knowledge is mostly wrong also. I think the mistakes are a blessing in that some of them are objectively verifiable, and show that there's a problem with the method.

As I see it, one of the really nasty problems with the excessive faith in intuition, is it destroys a person's ability to make adjustments when it fails. When you're wrong about something, and sensory experience is telling you your wrong, the doctrine just tells you to double down on your contemplation because that's going to tell you where your senses are misleading you. Also, a lot of knowledge is gained through hard work and experimentation, and if you think all knowledge is available meditatively, you neglect that work. Eventually, laziness and hypocrisy is what keeps you from overpowering your negative sensory feedback and descending totally into delusion.

In any case, if you disagree and think you are able to gain access to all knowledge internally, let me know and I have some questions I'd like you to answer for me.

Just to be clear, I'm not dismissing intuition as useless, I learn an awful lot that way, I'm just saying that it has limitations, and I've seen intelligent people destroy their lives with an absolutist thought about it.

Power corrupts, and I think it would probably be inevitable in this case. Its unnatural for a person to have that much power, at least in the current environment, and it would eventually distort and subvert them.

I think I'd probably work to make the knowledge known as widely as possible. Maybe that would make things worse rather than better, I don't know. But I'm pretty sure that it being the exclusive knowledge of a few people would be a bad thing.

I think that fate already has the equivalent power of astral travel. It can reach anything, and can find out anything. Yet very often it doesn't use that knowledge to cure diseases or prevent misfortunes, there's something else holding it back or making it clear that such action would be counterproductive in the long run. I think I'd try to get that understanding.

I've mentioned a time or two that my landlord/roommate killed himself a bit over three years ago. One disturbing thing about that incident is that I think my 'muse' saw it coming and hid it from me so I wouldn't interfere. I've also had a lot of other experiences that suggest the same sort of thing, that providence has some kind of active role in causing misfortunes. Its as if the world is out of whack because of some very deep difficulty, and the little tragedies keep the errors from accumulating and causing more serious problems. Or maybe there's a close and essential interaction between parallel worlds, and they all have to get tugged along in a compatible way or things come apart somehow spiritually.

Off topic again!

In any case, I think that unqualified astral travel would probably be a curse for me personally, and I'd do what I could to mitigate that. I'm not saying I'd suppress it: sometimes if something is an important part of what you are you have to exercise it, because otherwise you can't live and grow. But my activities would probably be organized around learning how to do that without destroying myself.

Now, if you could manipulate the matter in this reality, from the other state.

I meant to get back to this with a related comment....It seems pretty clear to me that the world is managed in part by some kind of intelligent providence, and that human and animal experience might be quite a bit better or quite a bit worse depending on how that providence behaves. Maybe providence is managing events in an optimally benevolent and intelligent fashion, or maybe its not, but this is not obvious to me from where I am now.

I think its debatable how much can actually be done for other people, and at some point maybe its just not something a mind is responsible for any more. But if every transcendent mind finds a state where service seems to be irrelevant, I think we're screwed. We absolutely depend on providence, and any minds that transcended depended on it. Maybe providence fails us to some extent, and this is part of our condition.
