I'll try to dream around that time. ^^

Okay~ :)
Good luck guys! Hope you achieve seeking the palace. That time is a bit off for me because it's neither nap-time nor bed-time. 7:00 PM in Australia. But as a compromise, feel free to use my dream guide even if I can't make it.
As for my Saturday not so time-coordinated attempt. I got to the Palace entrance area, but it was empty, dark, and had silent hill horror elements. My lucidity was low and I didn't have much control. So I chickened out and left. XD
I'm surprised why more people aren't trying. Shared dreaming is like the next step in dreaming since lucid dreaming. You don't have to be lucid for a successful shared dream experience. Just have to incubate it a bit and you can still contribute. ^^
Maybe they just want to focus on other things. Since there's not much verifiable data on shared dreaming, maybe they don't have interest in it as well. I don't know. Sorry the time was off for you karla. Its too bad that the place turned out to be creepy lucidbunnie. Hopefully that doesn't prevent you from doing what you want to at the palace next time. I don't recall much of my dreams.Yeah, rotating time might help.^^
Though it wouldn't hurt to rotate your dream times -- mostly because I could be wrong, but also to allow you to experiment with different periods in your respective sleep cycles to possibly discover a personal "sweet spot" for SDing -- I don't think you guys need to worry too much about precisely syncing up your dream times.
This is because SD probably (absolutely from my point of view) exists independently of any space/time rules. Just as you can connect with someone continents away with no regard for distance or location, so too can that connection happen if you are asleep at different times, relatively. In fact, in my opinion the distance problem, coupled with the finding the other dreamer among the dreams of billions of other people, is the real hard part; once you manage that, timing will seem a snap.
Here's a mildly crazy thought that might help this make sense. If SD'ing works, I think there is an excellent chance that we are all SD'ing all the time (Or, rather, our thoughts are somehow connected in a sort of unified field of thought energy -- which of course exists outside space and time -- but I won't go into that weedy nonsense just now, mostly because so much of it just sounds silly). In other words, we are always in the same psychic neighborhood with the people with whom we wish to share our dreams, whether we are awake or asleep; the only thing special about SD'ing is that it is a vehicle for looking around that neighborhood and finding the specific mental abode of the person you seek; basically SD'ing is little more than paying attention to where you are, psychically, all the time, even when you're awake. So, because all this is not sensitive to time (or space) you could literally be sharing your world with another dreamer during the day while you are awake and unaware of the connection (mostly because the ocean of information that relentlessly pounds your waking-life perception tends to drown out the subtle influence of other people's presence), but come dream time that same connection plays out for you in a format you can grasp, simply because lucid dreaming offers you a unique opportunity to pay attention to it.
tl;dr: Okay, that was a crazy and also incomprehensible thought that only muddled things -- I guess this is a thought that would require a book, and not a post, to describe properly. Suffice it to say that, if SD'ing exists, then its mechanics very likely would allow you to do your physical dreams at very different times, just as it allows you to do them in very different places; aligning your sleep and dream times probably does not matter.
Fair enough. I didn't think your thoughts were too hard to follow. :) I actually really like the idea that a synchronized timing doesn't matter, and with lucidbunnie's experiences I suppose we have a bit of evidence that it probably doesn't matter. The meeting at a certain time thing is just something that makes sense in my head, and gives me a bit more confidence for the shared dream, so I really wanted to try it out.
That being said, if anyone here can't dream at a time we choose to meet up, don't let that stop you from participating!
That's okay Jewel, maybe that 3:00 AM time will work for other dreamers. As you suggested, pick alternate times so different dreamers can have the experience.
I didn't get any sleep today so no attempts for Sunday.
have been following your progress with great interests, While i'm usually quite good at incubating this Palace Place is completely impossible for me too focus on :-(
But then again i personally don't Think we would have too be in same Place too hear somebody else... I'm at least going too try to keep up Writing in Dream Journal possibly I'll make Contact with someone somewhere else. :-)
I too failed. I dont think i focused enough on it even though i did try. Its true that syncs should still be possible regardless of setting
Hopefully we progress on our next attempt.
Im still going to try again tonight to get to palace.
I think you do a big mistake with the settings. If you really want to have a chance of meeting together, think about smaller meeting place. Like a Bar, Coffee, Mcdonalds and especially a Room. There are also other things I am trying to solve right now about SD, more on theoretical side. So you are not alone in this.
Edit: There is one more thing I noticed " I dont think i focused enough on it even though i did try", are you trying to do a remote viewing, because that just feel wrong.
Edit2: I hope you all doing the experiment while lucid right??? Because without lucidity SD is impossible!
Edit3: If you read my second golden law, you will understand that trying to visit the "place" is absurd.
I am trying mostly when lucid, but also incubating. However, I'd have to disagree and I don't like disagreeing. Vast majority of recorded shared dreaming experiences are not lucid dreams. In fact, going by personal experiences I have had quite a bit of shared dream experiences with my SO while we were both non-lucid.
Alright, so my actual experiences with shared dreaming with my SO is daydreaming... thanks for your insight. if you will hear me out I have an advice for you, I would like you tread lightly on what you consider impossible. You might ultimately end up limiting yourself with that mentality. ^^
I'm interested to know exactly why you think that though. Alright, it's obvious you are set in your own ways and unmovable. I won't try to convince you anymore.
Anyway, I have seen you make some bold claims in the forums about being able to lucid dream at will anytime without sleeping and dreaming continuously over 6+ hours. You know, with such extraordinary feats, I'm surprised you are having trouble making a visit to the Palace and meet us. If no one else, it's very likely you will be able to meet Jewel if you try. From what I understand, you don't claim shared dreaming itself isn't possible but rather it's only possible while lucid. So why not put your lucidity to the test and help us get more results with this experiment? I know you believe the location is too broad and that it should be something smaller, but doesn't entrance to the Gyeongbokgung Palace constitute as a finite and specific location?
I'm just trying to help you so don't get angry. Be calm and repeat "I'm one with myself, I'm one with the universe" and breath, breath.
Like everyone there you are just reading between the lines. What I say was that, I thought a method out of boredom for inducing LD without fully falling asleep(it's more like deep meditation with visualization). Yeah I can have really long WILD's. No I just didn't try, not a single time! Like I mentioned before:
And there is something that is stuck like nail in my mind since yesterday, that there is something wrong with this experiment on fundamental level. I always wondering why you try to "visit" the "Palace"? This palace is not a "place", it's just a mental image you are creating. By my second golden law, you don't need to go to the place, you just need to load it. But even so, everyone of you are just going make their own mental image of the place, but you all forgetting the most important part. You are minds need to connect with each other to make this "conference call" possible! This lead to my own experiment and I still think how to work it out. But experiment is experiment, I'm not saying that you must give up on this. So be strong and may the force be with you ^^Quote:
I am sorry that I can't participate in your shared dream experiment, but I am wishing you all best of luck to succeed.(I will keep my fingers crossed)
I have another experiment to attend, in which I am betting my existence on the line. My sub(other me) approach me recently and said that when I am ready, to find him and we will become "one". So wish me luck, it's time to face my destiny.
Shifter, if you read our posts thoroughly, you would know that we arent fixated on the palace so much that we forgot about connection. The palace is what will help us establish that connection. ^^ (We know its just a mental image)
You dont have to. Your the one whose not getting it.
Lol im not mad. You think too highly of yourself. Stop guessing people's emotions.
